Red 1967 Z28 in Alberta on ebay

Anyone know the history on this one?

That’s right here in my back yard. I’ve never seen the car... thanks for pointing it out.

Subject VIN 124377N210105
No Dealer info or real details of incorrect engine etc also lots noted as 'correct' so listing could've been better if all genuine?:hmmm:
Hoping Jon M. knows this one?

Were 67 Z28's available with a 3.31 rear axle?

Zedder 10-10-2020 07:00 PM

Don’t know Bill, but I don’t think any of the drivetrain is original in that car. Looks clean enough...would make a fun driver at the right price.

L78M22Rag 10-10-2020 08:18 PM

I heard back from the seller’s agent, and they do not have the POP, nor any other documentation. No idea of the selling dealer either. Without any original drivetrain components, I guess their claim of it being a Z28 hinges on the trim tag...

Seller is looking for $68.8k firm.

From the add; Restored as Original 67 RPO Z/28, 302 ci. 290 hp. 4-Speed V8 Hardtop Sport Coupe
True Bolero Red Z, 1 of 602, restored as original, dosen't say it started out as one of the original 602.

1967Z28 10-10-2020 08:51 PM

It was owned by a different guy in Canada who restored it circa 2007. He said it came out of Georgia. There was no original drivetrain in it and no P-O-P at that time.

It says True Bolero Red Z. Yes, I believe it is stating it started out as one of the original 602.

hate to say not possible, but I have never seen a 3.31 in a first gen Z.

3.73 standard, 4.10 performance, and I THOUGHT 3.55 economy (there's a euphamism).

Several 4.56 around. Never seen a 3.31.

There is a chart somewhere showing what was available, but I can't find it right now.

To add to the confusion, there is very little dealer order info, as the Z/28 was a bit late to the dance in 67.

Can't imagine it being too fun to drive with a 3.31 rear.

Lynn 10-11-2020 01:22 PM

Based on the GM doc posted on the "You can't make this stuff up" thread, sure enough, not only was a 3.31 gear possible, special order you could get a 3.07, as well as many others.

Jonesy 10-11-2020 08:44 PM

car was built 04C and that 3.31 rear is dated Nov 30, so I would say its not the original.

Yes, I agree.

If TT jives w/ Vin also original to the car, it may simply be a real '67 Z28 w/ whole drivetrain MIA?:hmmm:
Hard to dish something without good reason so unless info appears to suggest otherwise, this may be a worthy project that could much improve w/ an NCRS result and some backtracking.

Zedder 10-12-2020 03:10 PM

This is a tough one, because without the drivetrain there is nothing to prove that this isn’t just a trim tag swapped onto a rust free body. The white Gorries 67 Z is missing it’s original drivetrain, but I would still buy that one for the right price given the GM Canada docs.

Bob Harris has got another 1967 Z-28 for sale, Capri Cream RS with deluxe black interior. Higher quality car (except for the spoiler) and the bids are reflecting that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Chevro...506e%7Ciid%3A1

VIN: 124377N209168

Zedder 10-12-2020 06:43 PM

The Restoration on the Capri Cream car was started by the previous owner In Georgia. He offered it to to me painted but needing finished for $65k 3 years ago. From the ad below...

1967 camaro rs/z28 for sale. Car is part number correct, but not numbers matching. 302, 4spd, 12 bolt. Car is in process of assembly. Lots of parts to go with it, serious inquiries only. Might look at partial trades.

----67 Z's just don't get better optioned than this. Deluxe interior and RS make this Camaro. Actually love the Capri Cream as well!......Bill S

Thanks but I still like the Alberta car, especially if the CC RS includes resto stamped parts as details seem to indicate?:hmmm:
Jon, I just re-read your Gary Morgan CRG thread this morning w/ his Heinrich '67 Z-28 so already wound up on red 67's today!:headbang:
Best of luck to sellers and bidders of both these '67 Z-28's!

Thanks Jon! Did I read correctly that Ron the owner of the z passed away?

Zedder 10-13-2020 02:03 AM

That is a gorgeous Z!

1967Z28 10-13-2020 02:04 AM

Ron sold the car in 2014. Ron has had some health issues for the past few years but I hadn't heard he'd passed away. I sure hope not.

luzl78 10-13-2020 02:10 AM

I hope not. One of the good guys.

It seems that this car just sold on-line for $105,000 in August?

1967Z28 10-13-2020 03:16 AM

Yes but sometimes they get flipped again pretty quick.

Zedder 10-13-2020 11:41 AM

Man, I love that car! Reminds me of the Cone Z. I’ve tried numerous times over the years to reach out to Ron, but he seems to be off the grid.

1967Z28 10-13-2020 12:30 PM

Yes, it's a nice one Mark. Ron did a good job on the restoration. With regard to the other Ron with the Cone Z, I haven't heard from him in years.

Zedder 10-13-2020 12:57 PM

I sure hope that he is OK. Maybe I'll try calling him this weekend.

PeteLeathersac 10-21-2020 03:33 AM

Subject eBoy auction ended w/ bidding @ $53,900 US$.
Again, it may be a better car than it seems but needs an eyeballs inspection also NCRS report and backtracking, hope we get to learn more about it when it pops up next time.
