Best wiring harness

Which harness company is everyone using? While I am sitting on my hands waiting for my body shop to get me back in, and my engine builder has me on permanent hold, I was looking at my dash harness on my 70Z project. The car spent about 25 years in Arizona where it gets quite hot! Don’t want to count on a 50 year old harness with a few cut and or burnt wires? Thanks in advance for your help!

Used the AAW classic update kit on my 69 Camaro. Great customer service.

If you get the update kit, rather than the stock plug and play, get the crimping tool. Yeah, it's a bit spendy, but well worth it for the quality of the crimps.

Also, visit Eastwood and get their zip tie gun. It is invaluable for all the small ties you will use. You can set the pressure for how tight they get and then it cuts them off CLEAN, not with the invisible razor blade on the end...

Wiring

American Auto Wire, they have the original GM blueprints and as close or better to NOS as you’ll get. Donny Bock is also an enthusiast and main contact for them.

Very nice guys at American Autowire.I requested an R-59 Neg. Battery cable for my 1970 L-78 Chevelle that they had no record or history of.NOBODY did!..So I showed him my build sheet and the Part # & the suffix code for it.
They special made one for me FREE,and then added it to their current inventory. :)

Also to note is not all of their connectors are 100% correct. If this feature is required of your car, you may need to send your old harness to them first. Don will discuss it with you...Joe

Thanks for everyone’s input. Calling Donnie today!

AAW here also!

True that some connectors aren't correct, often the color. I refresh the connectors from the old harness and transfer them to the new harness. You also may want to make duplicate part number tags.
