'71 Lemans #s 350/4-sp Garage Find, Stored 30+yr, Amazing Docs

What's amazing is a '71 Lemans was stored away for so long, in a great color combo, with a factory 4-speed and dog dish hub caps, and a pile of factory docs. Sure, it's only a 350 2-bbl, but what a nice little combination this is. Bidding is already pretty strong, and I can see why!

That would be a fun driver! 140mph speedometer surprised me, didn't know that was standard.

The owner has owned the car for a year, and no one has tried to start the engine.
I think anyone would be excited after going through the drill, to see if the engine runs.

You can bet the farm they've tried to start it, were unsuccessful, and went no further. Or else they've found that the block froze sometime during the 30 yr storage and is now trash. A pig in a poke for sure....bid accordingly.

I'm guessing that bucket seats were standard equipment on a 70 LeMans Sport, since they are not listed as one of the options? Love the $30.00 deposit put down when ordering it

If I bought it I would put a big block Chevy in it anyway....

Question...being a 350 2bbl car, would this have a Muncie or Saginaw trans? Back in the early 80s, a friend of mine had a very stock 70 LeMans Sport 350 2bbl and factory 4-speed and, it had an M21. Always wondered if the car was born with the Muncie. That trans eventually made it into my 70 SS Camaro once he parted out the car.

I saw that...but in Chevy-speak..at least 1970 Camaros...M20 could be a Muncie or Saginaw depending on the powertrain.

fortim 12-18-2020 11:01 PM

This car, 70 Pontiac M20 = Muncie, open 3:55 rear.

chris slawski 12-18-2020 11:06 PM

BTW...if you are trying to sell a car maybe take out the coffee cup from back seat and vacuum it...or is it a barn find time capsule?

Charlierogers 12-18-2020 11:51 PM

yea,,,,,,,, and what about that rubber band on the floor in the back seat, AND that air cleaner is pretty darn dusty!
