Positive
I tested positive. Have all the symptoms, except I have not completely lost my sense of taste. Just diminished.
Was exposed to my son and his boys on Dec. 31. We had the boys for two days, and then my son came over for dinner Thursday evening when he picked up the boys. His wife and daughter stayed home as they were not feeling well. Sherri and I both started with symptoms on Sunday night. Got the call Monday morning from my son. He and his wife both tested positive. We have been under quarantine since then. Amazingly, Sherri still tested negative today. That was just the quick test; which can result in a false negative. So, we opted to do the more in depth one (think it is called a PRT test) where they send the swabs off. We are really hoping she is positive, as we don't want to have to double up on quarantine. I have had severe colds and flu more debilitating than this. Biggest issue has been the body aches. I am sure we will be fine. |

Get better soon Lynn. Some are effected way worse than others. Lets hope you remain with the mild symptoms.

Hope you both get well soon, Lynn!

Get well soon!

Hi Lynn,
Hope you have a mild case. Please call if you'd like to talk! The more in depth test is a PCR test (Polymerase chain reaction). PCR tests are used to directly detect the presence of an antigen, rather than the presence of the body’s immune response, or antibodies. By detecting viral RNA, which will be present in the body before antibodies form or symptoms of the disease are present, the tests can tell whether or not someone has the virus very early on. |
Prayers for a complete and speedy recovery!
|
Get well soon, Lynn.

Lynn, I hope you and your family feel better soon.
I just got the moderna vaccine last night. Other than a sore shoulder today (normal for any shot in the arm), I feel fine. |
----Lynn,,, Just stay as positive as you can and you will be back working on the building before you know it! We all have your back......Bill S

Get well soon. All the best Lynn.

Lynn,
I hope all of you have a quick recovery. Jason |
I am sure I will be fine; but thanks for the encouragement.
Three of our five kids (and a DIL) have had it. My older brother (age 71) had it. 29 year old daughter had it and NEVER had symptoms. My 38 year old daughter, who works at one of the largest hospitals in OK has avoided it. She donated a kidney to her husband two years ago, and his immune system is still compromised. He has barely left the house since March. I would be shocked if my grandsons were not carriers. Of course, at age 7, they are not likely to have symptoms; and so far they don't. Just lost my sense of taste today. I am only about a week away from where I would have qualified for the vaccine. Oh well. Part of me is glad to get it over with. |
I hope you and your family can look back on this one day as no big deal.
Take care and get well soon! |
Sorry to hear you're postive Lynn, but good to hear you're doing pretty well. Wishing you a speedy back to normal. Take your vitamins!
|
Hang in there, Lynn. I hope you and your family get over this soon.

As said, many times already, hoping you and your wife's symptoms stay relatively mild and you have a full recovery.

Symptoms still hanging on. Did get better sleep last night with a sleep aid.
Just got lab results. Unbelievably, Sherri is still negative. |
Good to hear that Sherri is still negative. Glad you are getting some sleep.
That's all I wanted to do, was sleep! |
Prayers for a speedy recovery for all.

I went back to the office on Thursday. Only symptoms hanging on are loss of taste (back to about 80%) and a little stuffiness in my nose. Never had a runny nose, and still don't. Just a bit of congestion; but not bad enough that I am taking anything for it.
Was also able to go to rehab for my shoulder surgery on Thursday. Unbelievably, Sherri never tested positive. We both started out with a mile headache on Jan 2. Mine was accompanied by a mild sore throat. She was fine by noon the next day, and I was headed down hill. Because she has not tested positive, but has been exposed to someone who was (me) she has to quarantine an additional 14 days from my last day in quarantine. Thanks for all the well wishes. Looks like we are both fine. |
Great to hear that you are doing better, Lynn!
|
Curious to know if Sherri was tested for anti-bodies that could indicate she had it previously and was unaware.
Good to hear you are returning to feeling better. |

We both give blood regularly, so next time we donate we can request that test. |
I hear ya on "everything together". My wife has been working from home since March 15th, or so, and we are like the proverbial peas in a pod. I go out far more than she does, for part time work and traveling for parts. When one of us brings a "bug" home, we get to share the joy of it together too...
