Vintage edelbrock/Mickey Thompson 4180 valve covers

3 Attachment(s)
I saved these valve covers from the trash and spent 10 hours scraping and sandblasting, what else is there to do during covid!

I can only find the ad for it and it lists it as 65-67 yet it is part #4180, like mine.

I have only ever seen one set like these but they were red, these only had a lot of black paint.

Any info would be great. They are made in Japan and the insides have only been wiped out.

What was the edelbrock/Mickey Thompson relationship

I'm sorry I don't have any information on these, but I love them! The only other set I have ever heard of was a gentleman on a Corvette Forum installed a set like these on a Big Block 68 Corvette that he bought new and they looked great!

Picked these up from a guy who had them on his blown 67 Camaro who got them off of one of the former owners of Big Bud farm equipment here in Montana. He had them on a 55 Chevy monster truck he used to do pull competitions with

I want to say somebody on the site had them on a Nova BITD. I remember seeing a pic of one of them blown apart.
Edit: It was 47Hammer.

There's the pic I was thinking of.

Note the damaged valve cover was mounted upside down.

I don't see any damage? I do see ejector pin marks running on the hold down rails but I don't see any damage as you imply?

I believe there was an explanation for the upside down cover in the original thread. I can’t remember what it was. Likely just placed back on there for the picture.

That picture didn't come thru for me. I only had 3 picture's from the first post.

That picture now show's up. Ya that would be a problem

I totally missed that. Had to be placed there for the picture.
