Hot Damn...'67 L78 Camaro, Black on Black
It's a project, but has a good looking trim tag with the best color combo out there shy of black-on-red.
For $18k, it looks pretty solid, and you know it's been sitting forever when you see the old quarter flares. If you're itching to do a '67 L78, might as well start with a black on black one. Wow, just realized the QB axle is a factory 4.56. Someone go buy this one so I can get some sleep tonight.

Period dated L78 for another 8k too...he offers a package deal...https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...unds&crop=fill |
Tony came up with some neat cars last night. He was busy
|
Yeah, he's like a high priced call girl. Just a big tease I can't afford...
|
There can't be many 4.56 rear L78 67s out there.
I think you are correct. The car isn't pretty, but doesn't look like any serious rust. Deserves a closer look. Would want to check those rockers. If I weren't already neck deep in projects, this would be hard to pass up. Hopefully, he would come down on the price of the engine if you bought both. |

22k package ? I just bought a newer daily and it would take time to sell a couple of my other cars. I'm sure this will get sold. |
Was the cowl plenum air cleaner a dealer installed part? Looks like this one had one at some time. Never seen one on a BB car.

Listing is GONE, so hopefully you can get some sleep tonight Tony. Great find BTW!
I sure hope someone on this site scored that one. |
Engine is still listed, so someone had a drivetrain or wanted the axle. I've seen some '67-69 12 bolts for what the price of the car was.
|
Literally my dream car. I need to have a stash saved up to strike when the iron is hot. I hope they are still out there when I'm ready!
|
Anyone have a cowl plenum setup for sale? Hope to get started on this money pit soon
|
Congratulations. Guess you are not buying the engine.
We need some pics and some details of your plan. I hope it is as nice of a start as it looked in the listing. |

That's cool that you are a member here. Hopefully, we will get to witness it's resurrection. |
Lynn, you may not remember me but I bought a DZ block from you for a Z project a few years ago. A black Z similar to yours.
|
Nice! Jealous. Congrats!
|
Congratulations. That's a cool car. Love the 4.56 rear axle. Looks like it had some sort of homemade cowl plenum style air cleaner as that firewall hole is way off from where GM says to put it.

Correct. Engine and trans for the 67 being discussed is long gone.
All the cowl plenums I've seen look homemade. They were done at the dealership. I had a 67 Z that was cut rectangularly but also had been cut out with a hole saw blade. I don't think any 2 cowl plenums were cut out the same. |
Congrats on such a cool Camaro!!

Let us know what the NCRS says as selling dealership. The car gives me a Black Trash vibe.
|
Very cool! Does have the look. Where was that car sold new? I love the as raced look.
|
Olivier Chevrolet in Morgan City, Louisiana is very likely the selling dealership on Cooley’s car.
|
Very cool car! I agree with Jon, I don’t think it had a GM cowl plenum. It wouldn’t line up with the hole cut in the firewall on this car.

Big Congrats and really great someone here pulled the trigger also looking forward to the NCRS result too. I missed it if an Oliver Chev connection but cool if so also anything to do with Jack Cooley's Black Trash cars! :beers: ~ Pete . |
NCRS shows Bobb Chevrolet Columbus,OH. So it appears to be a relatively local car it's whole life.
