I’m actually going to be in Naples starting Sunday. While I’ll miss this are there any other car cruises/shows happening? Any restaurant recommendations, lol ?

Markyodb2 02-05-2021 11:29 AM

Do you have a address? or timing of the show?

markinnaples 02-05-2021 12:56 PM

I've lived in Naples for 23 years and can attest that this show is pretty good stuff.
There are mostly exotics but they do have muscle cars and antiques, as well.
The show as the name states, is on 5th Avenue in downtown Naples, and Naples is pretty small so it's not hard to find.
The show benefits St Matthews House Homeless Shelter, Feeding Ministry and Addiction Recovery Center. I can attest that this is a worthy charity where miracles that literally save peoples' lives happen there everyday as I was on the Board of Directors for 15 years, so know that the entrance fees are going to a good place.
Unfortunately, my car isn't ready yet, so I'll miss it this year, and I have some appointments early in the day so I will probably only get there later in the day when everyone is leaving.
The show used to be called, "Ferrari on Fifth" as it was sponsored by the Naples Ferrari Club, but all special interest cars come to the show. Unfortunately, the space is limited to some degree so there isn't enough space to get all the cars that want to attend.
And if you're in town for a few days, I highly, highly recommend going online and getting tickets to the Collier Family Revs Museum (if it's open due to Covid) as it's an amazing place to visit if you like old race cars from around the world.
Any questions, feel free to ask, cheers,
Mark

The show starts early with some cars getting there at 6 to 7 am, and I think it ends around 3 or 4. I've gone late in the day a few times and watching the cars leave is one of the best parts of the show to me.
There are a million good restaurants around town, just depends on what type of food you want and what budget you're looking for.

Just as an FYI, there is a county-wide mask mandate for Naples/Collier County, but our area is a very conservative area so even though the mandate applies to places of business in Collier, there are a fair number of people who do not wear masks, so you may want to just take that into consideration.

I agree down here in collier county. lot of ppl non masked different from back home. i hope to make a trip out in the am id not at the end of the day. almost like normal life down here again.....

most of the restaurants that I frequent are down on Marco Island (approx 30 minutes south of Naples). PM me if you're coming south - lots of great places to eat on Marco.

I'll be in the Homosassa area starting the 16th. We plan to make a day trip to Kissimmee and I'm wondering if their show is still going on ? I think it was a weekend evening ? Been a number of years since I was there last.

Went to several car shows and swap meets here in Ohio over the past 8 months and virtually nobody wears a mask outside. Ditto with fall Carlisle.

But Naples is the current epicenter of the "mask push back" as publicized in the national media right now due to the reporting surrounding Oakes Farms Seed to Table Market right there in Naples.

Looks like it will be a great show however but I could see the potential for somebody (just out to have a good time at the show) getting filmed for the internet or placed on TV, as part of the mask debate.

That's it ! We happened to be there on a Sat at the go kart track and these cars started rolling in and parking. Now that I think about it, it was 12 years ago. Our son was 12 and we were down there for spring break. The wife and son had to endure a couple hours of me looking at cars that evening...

THANKS ! We are only there for 1 Saturday, the 20th, so I will try to plan that as the Kissimmee Day.

I attended this show last year and man, more plastic walking around than was being displayed on four wheels!:cool2:

It was a very good show but just over run with a sea of people which made it hard to even see the cars. I was looking for a Ferrari 328 GTS to buy at the time and was able to see a few which got me zoinked to finally buy one. Way more Ferraris and exotics than vintage muscle, but a cool show none the less!:3gears:

Cheers:beers:

I made it down to the show this year. They limited the number of people to I think 15K this year vs something like 35K in prior years - might be off on those numbers.
Still a great show, and the further you go down 5th towards the beach, the thinner the crowd got. I would say that the percentage of mask wearers was probably 10% to maybe 20%. And by the way, Seed to Table is an awesome place; you can wear a mask if you choose to, or you can choose not to. I personally like Alfie Oakes, but the new report and footage of Seed to Table made people go absolutely crazy. Regardless as to how you feel about a mask and choose to wear one, I highly recommend going there as it's just a cool place.
I videoed some of the people leaving the show and there are some other pics here:

Here are the only pics I took, mainly for my son who likes the exotics. The FB post above has 3 videos that I took when people were leaving.
