MCACN Saturday evening.
Sherri and I are planning to attend.
I am interested in getting together with a group of knuckleheads (Charlie calls us all his idiot friends, but I am trying to be kind) for dinner. I am thinking we ought to be able to get many 12 to 15 of us together to share stories, and connect on a more personal level. I was able to go to dinner with Ryan and his son back in 2016, and it was great. Let me know if you are in, and I will put something together. Would also be interested in suggestions for a great place to eat where we might be able to get a table or two. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys. |
Gibson's is always great but for a group that large you might be better off ordering pizza and hanging out in the lobby as many others do - probably tough to get a reservation for that many people on a Saturday night that weekend.

If I can cross the border I would love to attend!!
Wow that was 2016...… TIME FLIES!!!! You should see Jamie now!!!! Ryan W31. |
I am in...
I would love to meet more of those who are completely consumed by automotive insanity... |
Most any of the restaurants in that area will be impossible to get a table for a group that large on both Friday or Saturday night. We have done it but we had to break up the tables into 2 or 3 groups which somewhat defeats the purpose. Pizzas have always been a big hit in the main lobby every year.
|
I hope to attend this year also if the border is open (I suspect that it will be...). Would love to meet some of the members that I have been in touch with virtually for years!
|
Any chance we can get Bob Ashton to arrange for a couple tables to be set aside for yenko site members and their guests? I know Bob doesn't have anything else to look out for that weekend.
I can see us having 15 easy. I am good ordering pizza for 20, just to be sure we have enough; but someone local will have to tell me where to get it. We can get a more accurate count as the day approaches. Yes, Ryan, can you believe it? Five frikken years ago!!! |
You can get Pizza delivered to MCACN....

I wouldn't take a Giordanos pizza over a table at Gibsons for any reason.
But a Deep Dish from Lou Malnatis? Now that I'd take over Gibsons any day. ...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :) |

I'd take Domino's so long as there is beer!

Any beer snobs here? I only drink Paulaner Salvator. It is a freakin awesome German beer. But you have to be careful; something like 9% alcohol. I will be bringing some for myself. It has ruined me for all the American beers. I can drink some of the Sam Adams darker stuff in an emergency. I can bring some extras if anyone wants to try it. I don't drink more than two. |

Harwood Heights or Park Ridge - each about 15 minutes away...... |
Man, would I love to join you guys if I’m not traveling for work.
|
Ginos East is nearby and has great deep dish Pizza.
We usually head to Gibsons and try to get a seat at the bar for a burger. Mortons is within walking distance around the corner and has great steaks. It's expensive, but very good. |
I also would be in for anything. Pizza sounds good. Im at the Double Tree.
|
Lot of options in a "food/ Mall" just west of the convention complex (just east of Highway 294) including Hoffbrau Haus which can host a large group no problem. Maybe get that German beer there?
|
That sounds good, Lynn. I will, most likely, run down for the day, but could stay for a while after.
I got to meet travlnZ28, Gregg, and big gear head, Freddie, on Monday for parts. It's always cool to travel and meet the people we've been conversing with on forums. |
River Falls to Rosemont and back is a long one day trip. At least you will be on adrenaline for the trip home.

That would be caffeine on the way home... Did it a couple years ago and, depending on how long I stay, it's a 25 hour day. Just got back from a 2 day run to Dandridge TN, Center City KY and back in 48 hours. Getting slow in my old age. Odometer just clicked over to 69... |
