New Tow Vehicle

Just picked up a really cool old school dually to pull my trailers with. 1986 with 46k miles. Original paint and everything under the hood is stock GM. Went with an open trailer and Yukon XL to pick it up, but I didn’t like how the crew cab filled the trailer, so I swapped them around and pulled the Yukon home with the new old truck. First 200 miles performed flawlessly. This is my third crew cab but it’s been a really long time between. It was a great feeling driving this old truck and got a lot of comments.

----Had an 87 that hauled Red Alert all over the country for 5 years. Bought it with 20,000 miles and ran it to 200,000 before selling it to a guy who exported it to England. They are great old beasts!!!......Bill S

Only had to make one run to WalMart to get a hitch with the right drop..... Yukon receiver is a lot higher.

I had a great 1986 3/4 ton Suburban that was a 350 with a turbo 400 and 4.10s. Bought it new. It was a great tow vehicle but the gas mileage was about 8 mpg.

This thing would be so sweet with an 80's 40' Chaparral hooked to it.

Toy hauler/camper right there. Nice looking truck and already set up for a fifth wheel.

I hauled a 1952 2.5 ton stake bed home from Pagosa CO on my 18' trailer pulled with my 2000 Silverado. Looked like the proverbial ant pulling a log. I new it was going to hang over and brought lights and a harness to clamp on the back of the truck. I went in December and had to traverse Wolf Creek Pass. Seller tried to get me to buy chains to get back up, but I figured I could make it. Shoulda bought the chains, as I lost a couple years of my life when I thought the truck was going to start sliding back down with all 4 wheels spinning.
