When The Prices Jump The Critters Appear.
Well, when I started getting emails asking how many 1967 IPC's were produced from people I did not know, (like they were requesting comment material that they could use in some way) I became suspicious and sure enough I checked media and found the video which was published just two weeks ago.
I do not know this guy and I am in no way connected to this presentation. I would suggest however- he could stage a wild animal to jump out of the hood or interior to add to the drama ala Vegas Flip style. :naughty: For entertainment who can identify all of the factual problems presented here? |
I think he worked with Gas Monkey Garage owner looking for cars at some point.

Yeah. The car in the video is an incidental RPO replica, meaning it has a close appearance and trim combination (due to the RPO build selection) but the absence of the pace car data on the trim tag makes the video look kind of ridiculous.
The comment made of the L-48 being rarer than a Z/28 engine was another regrettable quote. |

The cocktail shakers weren't there for weight distribution either. They were to cancel out vibration harmonics at some speeds on less than optimum road surfaces. Leave me out of whatever video you're planning Dennis. Just bring the green folding stuff.

Is that the China version?

Dennis sure has a way of finding alot of unique cars. Have dealt with him on several occasions and he sure goes after a wide range of makes and models .
|
Must be real it has the "Caution Fan" sticker.

"easy to find them when you have everyone coming to you with them or looking for you"
So true, I remember when Dennis and Richard were here their phone was ringing with people pitching them cars even as we were filming. Surprisingly a friend across the street had a pair of 57 Gullwing Mercedes that were coming up for sale due to the owner passing a few days prior , and they actually had already known about it ! |

This is the trim tag from the video

Anyone notice the convertible only door jamb alignment wedges are missing in the auction pictures?
Kind of funny since Dennis points them out in the video and calls them striker plates so the door won't pop open. The viewer comments in the video have nothing but praise for this guy. Don't forget to like and subscribe! |

Yeah, whatever. Dennis is a solid guy who treats people right and creates an entertaining weekly vid. He gets on the road almost every week digging out interesting cars. He buys and sells almost everything and can't be an expert on them all. His shop does amazing Jeep restos. Now get a cup of Joe and let's go!

I thought Barrett Jackson was having these cars inspected/vetted?
|
I know that NCRS shipped award confirmation on any car that has proclaimed NCRS judging in its writeup. These documents are in the property room. Any Corvette that proclaims validated paperwork has to have the conformation letter in the property room.
These are not absolute fail safes, but surely an effort to help the buyer out. NCRS also has a booth there. |

Perhaps he will be doing a future video titled "why I had to unwind my auction sale" -- "oh boy was that expensive"
The fun starts at 10:45 Minutes in. |

The advance commitment fleet provided to IMS was identically optioned. Here is the modified track camera chase car. Contrary to what is stated in the video segment above NONE were column shift.
|
I guess we are now at the third stage of finding the truth and separating fact from fiction. What more can we ask for!
|
What did it end up selling for?
..and did the new owner ask Dennis where the Best place was to eat around here? ;) |
His explanation for why most of the cars were column shift is odd.
How in the world does a column shift car make it easier for folks to get in and out? |
Don’t ‘67 IPC have a fleet code on the data plate/trim tag? I didn’t see that code on the snapshot of tag from the car in question here.

Real C-1 Dealer IPC replicas (at a minimum) will display a dash mark after the 5th group on the tag indicating the deletion of the standard color bumblebee stripe. |
