Firestone 200 Z/28 tires

----If anyone has a set of lightly used Firestone 200S tires that they don't need I'd be interested.....Bill S

As a backup plan Bill, Coker sells them (repop)

I know. I offered a backup plan if he can't find any or those that have them want too much money for them.

Always good to have options Steve.

May want to check availability. Last car I restored the owner was already waiting 6 months for Firestone Wide Ovals from Coker and he wasn't really sure when they might show up. I had the car another 4 months and they still weren't here.

Originals had racing sidewalls and were much more performance oriented, and needed tubes. I and a bunch of guys I knew used to buy them from the Firestone factory store in Akron. The tires that sometimes came on 69 Z's are a repop of the Z tire which had to be way more legal. Since I'll never find originals I'm looking for a set somewhat cheaper than Coker sells them for.....Bill S

$700 · Firestone Sport Car 200 tires

This is a full set of five E70-15 bias ply tires. They are in excellent condition with minimal wear. Currently, on rally rims and stored properly in a cool, dry place. Rims are not included. These tires were one of two options on a 1969 Camaro Z28. They cost $365 US per tire and with exchange, shipping, etc., you would pay at least $2500 CDN for this set.

That's a great deal, but the ad says they are already sold.

Back in August 2019 as well.

When I talked to them at the last show they didn't have the 200's in the radials like they do the Wide Ovals, the 200's are bias only, and from what I was told they had no interest at that time to do it either. I suppose being a niche tire for only a specific model they just don't sell enough of them to warrant the effort.

That was last year before the pandemic garbage, don't know if things have changed but judging by the fact that product availability is scarce on other tires I doubt it.

I was fortunate enough to find a set of four for $100 on craigslist back around 2015. They only had a couple short drives on them. The guy put them on his '69 Z to get "the look" and hated them so much he took them off and put radials on. Sometimes you just get lucky when you do a search.
