New to me 69 Chevelle SS
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I had created a post in the wanted section looking for a 68-69 Chevelle SS. I had a few members respond to me and I eventually bought a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 from a member! I wont mention his name but if he wants to respond here that's great and if not that's fine too. It was a very good experience and the seller was very helpful and understanding and a great person to buy a car from! The car is a genuine Chevelle SS 396. I have the original disassembled engine with the matching VIN# on it. Its a lower optioned car with the base 325hp engine and a bench seat with a manual trans. It currently has a 454, an M21 trans and a 3:31 posi rear. Its not perfect and that's ok. Overall it is exactly what I was looking for and im super excited to own it. I will try to post some pics below and I will possibly have some questions too. Thank you |

Mike,
Congrats and well done.....I love the Color Combo. Hard to beat any 1969 Chevelle with a Parchment Bench Seat with a 4 Speed :) Looks like the Door Panels are PUI Brand and are starting to delaminate, very typical. Under the hood looks very nice....I would redo the Brake Booster and Master Cylinder, if you choose to....use Mike at Brakebooster.com I like the Orange Painted Day2 Valve Covers and Headers. Are you missing both horns? Love your new 1969 SS396 Chevelle :) Dan |
Neat Car! wish my Forest Green 70 had a Parchment gut ,Very Cool !!!
|
Very nice. I'm green with envy.

|
Ditto on the Parchment interior....congrats Mike, enjoy it!
|
nice car - good luck with it!

I used to hate White interiors (before I was enlightened) but these days I absolutely love them. I also like big CID’s disguised as stock, small-ish OEM motors. Have fun with that ride!
|
nice car..it didn't have history from Western Pa did it?
friend of mines Mom drove one just like it years ago, same dark green with white interior...stock wheels..396.. can still picture it going past with kids in the back and dirty from daily driving..lol :) good luck with it! |
Congrats! Beautiful Chevelle.
|
Congratulations! I love the color combination and the bench seat 4-speed.

Thanks for all the reply's, im really excited to own the car.
PostSedan, good catch on the horn, I didn't even realize it was missing! :-) I cant make it to the Morris show but I will definitely be hitting the car cruises next year. The car was built in Fremont CA and then moved to Arkansas and then Wisconsin where I purchased it from. This is the original black plate which appears to have been last registered in 1983. |

I read that B80 on the trim tag might mean the car came with drip rail moldings. Any thoughts on this? The car presently does not have the moldings but I will most likely add them since I like them.
|
Indeed....put on the drip rail moldings. Fremont build cars are always the best condition....minimal rust.
Glad to help. Dan |
As usual, Cragars really set the car off! I love the color combo, its one of my favorites on my FAVORITE car of all time, 69 Chevelle
