1969 NOS Front Spoiler

Does anyone have an NOS front spoiler for a 1969 Camaro available?

Bob

I have a really nice one, do you need the spoiler rods also? Thanks Jeff G Hartford, CT

Not necessarily. The rods on mine are fine. My original spoiler has a few cracks in it that do not appear to be repairable.

Hi Bob, yes this one has the yellow part # and gm pn # stamped on the lower ridge and factory GM service tag.

Send me a PM so I can text you pics.....Cheers Jeff G Hartford, CT

Anybody else with a NOS 1969 unit?

I’ll get in line for one too. Please PM

Part # ?

bergy 08-24-2022 12:28 PM

My understanding is that factory installed spoilers could have had no part number. OTC ones had raised part number and/or yellow stamp part number. Correct?

Part number is 3938689. It may have a GM sticker on the back or yellow ink stamp. Possibly even molded into the spoiler. I would imagine the assembly line units were unmarked. 1967 and 1968 units used a different part number.

I have one NOS but not sure of value. ????

Hi Charley,
That would be a fairly recent piece as evidenced by the bar code sticker. I presume it is still the same piece (texture, etc.) as prior versions? I would be interested if we can agree on price. What condition is it in?

I’m going out of town but it is new in the box. No idea how it compares to earlier ones and no idea on value. I can take pics when I get back.

Just for reference, here's what was an NOS front spoiler from 1970/71 time frame. Sticker is still intact 50 years later.

I've seen NOS ones with both style of sticker, I do not remember if there was any difference to the part, however. My guess is that there will probably not be any difference. As long as it is GM NOS, I think I would be fine with it on this particular part. That is the most important thing to me. The repros are just too smooth.

Let me know when you return and we can talk about what you want for it. I have not looked for one in a few years, but in my recent search, I have not seen one for sale yet. About 2-3 years ago I remember seeing one on Ebay for somewhere around $375-$400. Camaro Central had one for sale a couple years ago for I think $475 or thereabouts. I won an auction on Ebay for one about 5 years ago for $350. Thats about all I know regarding value. Maybe someone else here will have a better idea of value.
Thanks Charley.

I bought this NOS spoiler here a couple of years ago as part of a larger group of items. I bought it as shown, and also came with a set of NOS spoiler rods to go with it. I was later told by others that this is an early first edition spoiler because of what's denoted on the label. The spoiler was priced at $450 in the list of NOS parts acquired. It's now on my yellow car along with the rods.

I am familiar with the GM label, but I believe the earlier parts had a yellow stamped part number on them. Can someone verify that?

The later version NOS spoilers for 1969 including the ones with the bar code stickers will get you points reduction according to Dale Murphy one of the judges at Camaro Natl's. There were different vendors & the texture is not the same as the earlier ones.

My spoiler has the stamp on the front! Here's the label on the back.
I've owned the car since the mid 80's.
