Dash Pad

Hello all. I am looking for a good source to restore an original assembly line 69 Camaro dash pad non-AC . It is not cracked but has shrunk . Thanks in advance .

Justdashes.com Watch the Jay Leno video of the 17K mile Jaguar XKE on here. They are in there. Tells the story and process.

Has anyone had experience with Just Dashes restoring 69 dash pad? Wondering how they do on getting the shrunk up ones to properly cover the VIN rivets. Anybody have pics?

In my 46 years in the hobby/business I have never seen a '69 dash pad repair last more than a few months.

Main problem, the liner is plastic. By the time it shrinks and warps, the foam is hard as a rock. You can trim the liner back and re-glue the foam, won't last. Keeps warping, the studs pull out; corners break off. And as noted, the VIN rivets will be visible.

Don't bother with NOS should you find one. The tooling was different, no bead along the leading edge. Most had a bald spot in the middle.

Latest repro is excellent. That's the smart move.

Thanks everyone. Great advice and ideas.

William, which repro do you like? Does the same hold true for a 69 Chevelle dash pad? I need both!

The latest repro, known as the "OE style" is the best of the two repros, I hear. About $370.

In stock at D & R Classic Auto.

I used Just Dashes to rebuild the pad in an '85 Suburban. Expensive , but, results are perfect. 2 years so far without issues.

D+R are easy to deal with. Steve is a good guy!

William, is the one you are referring to at D&R? The only one coming up.

I also found this one locally at NPD, they claim a new design and the most correct??

Only know for certain on the '69 Camaro pad. If the same features apply to the Chevelle pad, the new design is likely the OE style.

Thank you
