1968 Corvette
Besides the NCRS shipping report how do I tell if a 1968 Corvette was a Baldwin Motion Corvette? I know about the headlights, what other signs do I look for to validate the Corvette is a Baldwin Motion car.

Motion kept all the records, and they can document the car by the VIN

he does not... he passed the records onto someone else. Chris will know. im sure he will chime in. to the OP.. is this car restored? or does it still have old speed parts on it? you can check to see if there are holes in the trans tunnel for a hone overdrive. Dupree pumps? GT rear window? corvette traction bar? pics might help. |
I am supposed to look at the car this weekend. I think the owner should get the NCRS Shipping Report to start. I have heard that other Chevrolet Dealerships sent cars to Baldwin Motion for modifications, but I am not sure how true that is.

Motion Vette
Is this Vette red with white stripe?
|
The car is burgundy or maroon in color with no stripes.

Sounds cool, love to hear more including whether GT window/speed parts etc as posting #4 above. Not that it helps w/ the Motion part but has anyone looked for the Tank Sheet yet? Best of luck w/ your inspection and hope it's something special! :beers: ~ Pete . |
get detailed photos if you can including engine and underside

Well, my opinion is that this car is not a Baldwin-Motion car. To me it looks like a nice restoration on a stock 1968 Big Block Corvette. No signs of side pipes, electric fuel pump, ignition box, fender flares, Grant steering wheel, LeMans gas cap, scatter shield, Hurst shifter, rear end traction bar, plexiglass covers on the H/L, hood pins, and a Mallory distributor.
