Rusty / Sad '67 GTO 400/4-sp

Looks fairly well optioned, but what a mess - even the valve cover is rusted through. I can't tell if that's an original '67 GTO AM/FM, but if it is it's worth a few hundred bucks by itself.

Obviously spent some time as an artificial reef somewhere...
Curious about that Oldsmobile marker light?

Yes, that Olds marker light is an interesting touch.

wow, am fm too

The valve cover is even rotted through!! I wonder what the inside of the engine is like.

60sStuff 01-10-2023 08:29 PM

Unbelievable.

I’ve never seen a valve cover or a water pump pulley rust away like what’s on this ‘67.

Not that it matters but the AM-FM is a 1966 with ‘66 knobs.
Still worth some money along with the stainless rocker moldings.

Definitely a parts car and then crusher.

It could have been flooded by Sandy, but I think it was sitting, derelect even then. Probably a coastal car left to rot close to the ocean. Must have had the hood left up for the salt air to get at the engine. All the rust is on the top.
And the one pic has the windshield in the back seat. That would account for the severely rusted dash and all the rust crumbles on the console. That radio may be missing most of what's behind the dash face...:dunno:

60sStuff 01-12-2023 02:25 AM

There are very large heavy plastic duct work for the air condition that goes over the top of the radio that may have saved it ??
