Sounds like there is some question as to whether the block is original, because the block in this car has the VIN stamped on the pad. Looks like they were trying to retain the 1970-only square impression in the jamb under the door striker by attaching a re-pop quarter shell TO it. You need a person who knows their way around a TIG welder to attempt something like that. Not a good look.
