'69 JL8 Camaro

Gregg's JL8 car is back on the block, this time for $125k. Hope it finds a good home.

Always an interesting car!

I heard it bid to 106K at auction and was a no-sell. I wish the new owner success.

JL8 is a cool option. Not cool enough to overcome the 307, IMO.

I'll say...

If he gets that price, it must be a world record for anything with a 307.

I don't know if it's valued at what he is asking but the car isn't just "anything with a 307". In all my years of ownership of this car I never saw another plain jane camaro with JL8. I heard rumor of some but never saw it. I know some of you high performance folks on this website would never give this car a glance at a show simply because of the 307 emblems. That's fine, however if you are a true Camaro lover the rarity of this car deserves some respect (value).

Some on this website know where I placed the value of the car as I contemplated selling it but the fact remains if the rarity of this is something that floats your boat then good luck finding another one.

I don't think a 302 Bronco is worth what they get for them but they do.

I'll get off the soap box. Just needed to defend something that was part of the family for nearly 20 years.

One thing I wondered about this car is if the 15" rally wheels were an additional mandatory option to go along with the JL8 or were they included in the JL8 option/cost. If the wheels were included with JL8 then that makes the price of the JL8 a little bit better deal on a non Z28 car.

Is the red primer pic of the JL8 car?

At the end of the day, it is a great looking car with a top notch restoration and a HUGE killer super unique option.

Enough said.....

That was as found condition of the JL8.

Dang very cool resto.

travlnz28 12-13-2023 12:41 PM

I had a few knowledgable Camaro friends telling me to part the car out knowing that the rear end was worth quite a bit more than I paid for the entire car. IMO, 307 or not, the car had to be restored. While not a ZL1 or crossram Z, it's a small bit of unique Camaro history.
