Looking forward to the Camaro Nationals. We have 70 Z28 30k miles, a 67 rs/ss L35 with 19k miles and a 79 Z28 with 25k and perhaps another car.

The 67rs/ss L35 is still owned by original owner and believe this may achieve both Vintage Time Capsule and Legend Survivor -Platinum.

Billohio 06-28-2024 01:21 PM

That 67 is nice!

Curious how you got him to stand still long enough to have a conversation...

At MCACN, he seems to be in constant motion.

Thanks for posting amazing detailed pictures of assemblyline processes from various sections of Brett's car. I can't get enough of how well preserved that car is and the priceless information that is so vital for enthusiasts/restorers.

Love that duplication of the original overspray on the firewall......masterpiece!!!!!!!

What was your score 98?? or 99 and ...

Too Many Projects 08-18-2024 05:22 PM

Beautiful car, Lloyd, with the detail you put into it, you deserve every award you get.
BUT, I don't recall ever having seen a silver firewall and I'm certain it is correct, or you wouldn't have done it, but at what time during production were they painted that color ??

enio45 08-18-2024 05:24 PM

Mitch, it is white consistent with the white stripes.....

Too Many Projects 08-18-2024 05:32 PM

Thanks, I was contemplating the color and wasn't sure. It must be a Z thing, cause I don't recall seeing stripe matched firewalls before either. But then, I'm not familiar with the way of '69 Z's at all.

enio45 08-18-2024 05:40 PM

yes, absolutely a Z/28 thing. Lloyd can elaborate the process and why.

Too Many Projects 08-18-2024 06:07 PM

Cool, we can talk some at MCACN in November too.

Thanks Mitch, the (white) paint on the firewall is stripe color overspray from the under-cowl paint operation which was done so the stripe color was visible with the cowl panel installed when viewed through the vents. Sometimes the firewall received some overspray color which was the case on my car.

Charley Lillard 08-20-2024 02:51 PM

Very nice.....Can I have it ?

----Love that you resisted using GM stamped heater hoses. It seems that some of us think the GM stamped hoses came on everything, and that just isn't true!....Bill S
