Another amazing 4-wheel drive survivor from the Wayne and Robin Schmeeckle Collection.
It's been a while, but we have several saved up to post.

Well done with amazing results.

That has the big Ford disk brakes, I put a set of those on my CJ5. I think they only used them one year (CJ)

As a jeep guy, like the older ones, this looks great!
Question for you, if I’m looking for someone to do this service in my area, I would use you but to far away, do you have any pro tips or questions I should be asking to make sure I have a good experience?
Thanks, I hope it’s appropriate to ask.

I can't make out the year of the feature CJ, it's got the wide leafs, and amc 20, so thinking 80-83?

75 was the last year for the small leaf springs, and open frame (they boxed them after that). 75 was the last year for a dana 44, and an outside wiper motor.

I've got a '86 wide track 44 rear. Yes, it's rare, and had a jeep 'expert' get a little angry and insistent that it was never made....until he looked beyond his nose. It's matched with a wide track 30 up front.

Had to edit that, it's an '86 44, on a '80 cj5 frame, shortened to fit a '70 body, '72 pedals, and chevy sb.......confusing.

Yes, I've seen them in small amounts in later years. And I know what you mean. I have a 75 CJ5 with a 350 Chevy, 350 turbo trans and a dana 300.

Pretty sure those axles were 1 year only
A good jeep guy I know in New Haven told me always buy the last year of the run they splurge on the parts for
That last year.

I bought my daughter a 84 cj7 w glass body and a 400 HP small block. And the rear had issues. Turns out they had the block in it w the aftermaket axles. That’s a no no it puts pre load pressure on the axle bearings but I had found a set of these axles when I was looking. . I fixed what I had but kinda wish I’d grabbed them
Now.

That's what I remember the jeep "expert" telling me after he recalled a bit. From what I gathered, it was an inventory cleansing due to the YJ introduction the following year.
