1965 corvette trim tag
1 Attachment(s)
Would like everyone’s opinion on this trim tag. It is on a 65 Corvette. Thanks in advance!

Is the tag that rough or is it the resolution of the pic? Not sure about the rivets. What's the VIN?

Might be the resolution. Is this any better?

If you magnify the "C" in Chevrolet, you should see marks like teeth in the top part of the "C" where it starts and the bottom part of the "C" where it ends.
|
Is this a car you're considering purchasing?
|
Yes it is

bbjohnny,
I'm studying your tag. Your last 2 photos were the best but please post 1 more clear shot like those but now show the entire tag centered showing both rivets. Looking straight into the rivet holes. That'll do it. Thanks, Mike vettespaz ('65 & '66) |
Thank you. It will be a couple of days but I can get that.

I am looking at the 1965 Trim Tag section of the book by Al Grenning/Roy Sinor. There appears to be several differences between their documented example tag and the tag you posted. The "M" in MOTORS and the "H" in MICHIGAN should vertically line up perfectly on the right side. One more example would be the "D" in BODY, the documented tag has extra flashing(material) on the internal right side of the "D"; the picture of the "D" in your post appears perfectly clean.

The top pic is the tag from my Bowtie / Benchmark 65. Below, is the tag in question. The dates are not that far apart. Study carefully

I sent you a PM the other day.
|
Tim, I didn't get it. Could you please resend?? Thank you!

Paint code 900UU looks like it is climbing uphill in all of the photos posted which looks odd compared to the others I’ve seen.
