Do you have an idea of the dates of these ads? My Chevelle is a Grossman car.

That first ad very well could be advertising my car, as it was shipped June 10, 1969. Thanks!

Re: 1969 Grossman Chev. Yenko ad (1 of 2)
Rob,
In the second ad "Best Bargains of The Year!", I can just make out the front end of a '69 Chevelle parked behind the glass on the showroom floor. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? What are the odds? Tim "Hotrodchev" 1968 Nova S.S. 1968 Chevelle S.S. 1969 Chevelle S.S. 1972 Cheyenne Super SWB |

Re: 1969 Grossman Chev. Yenko ad (1 of 2)
Ok super sleuth (Tim), any chance of finding out who Grossman contracted their advertising out to. Maybe the original advertiser is still in business and has the original photos as well as non published photos still on file. I doubt it but stranger things have come true. Re: 1969 Grossman Chev. Yenko ad (1 of 2)
Now there's a wonderful idea I haven't thought of before! If they do still exist, what are the chances of them maybe having other original photo's on hand that were or weren't used in advertisements. I would have to believe that there are probably other photo's that may exist of the Yenko cars as they arrived at the dealership. Grossman knew that people would come from all over just to see one of these cars and they used it to their advantage to attract potential new customers to their doorstep. I'll definitely have to look into this further!

Re: 1969 Grossman Chev. Yenko ad (1 of 2)
Tim;
Didn't Jay Kline Chev. become Grossman Chev. in early '69? |
Re: 1969 Grossman Chev. Yenko ad (1 of 2)
Hi Marlin,
Jay Kline and Grossman Chev. are or were two seperate dealerships. I was just talking about this subject with Vince E. the other day and he had confirmed for me that Jay Kline was the first premier Yenko dealership in the area to handle Yenko cars from 1967 to 1968. Then, for reasons unknown, Grossman Chevrolet somehow gained control of the Yenko business and handled all of the 1969-1970 Yenko's. It's not understood if Jay Kline had the business taken away from them or if it was a decision on Jay Kline's part to discontinue handling Yenko's after '68.
