Yellow Yenko Nova
 

This is my first post to the site, although I have lurked and learned here for a while. I have some pictures that I took at the '79 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals of a couple of Yenkos. I'll try and attach one to start with and if the current owner is known, I'd be happy to send on the picture to them. First one is a yellow tunnel rammed small block with a yellow YENKO licence plate. I can't tell what state it is from.

I'll keep looking through the pile of pictres for a couple of under hood shots of a gold 69 yenko camaro. That car was for sale for $5,800 from North Carolina at the time. That car switched me from Nova's to Camaro's. I sold my plain jane Nova and bought my Z when I returned from the show. Today I wish I would have bought the Yenko Camaro...

I believe that's the deuce Ron Norman has. Wisconsin would be right, and it ran a tunnel ram for a while. Very cool, almost put a tunnel ram on mine back in the day. S.

That's the car that was owned/driven around McFarland by Ron Byrd in the 80's. He drive it around without the hood all the time and it definitely had a tunnel rammed SBC.

Wish I'd have known more back then. It was a pretty hot ride. Thanks for helping to solve my prior inquiry.

Was at the same show and have pictures of that car as well. There were two othe Yenkos there that year as well as Don Yenko himself. He was checking out a new dealer prepped Camaro from Buegler?sp Chevrolet. The Yellow Nova from ebay looked pretty much the same as it does today even then. This is not the same car. There was a LeMans Blue 69 Camaro there that belonged to NWYenko, and one that was painted black with white stripes. I did not take any pictures of Don Yenko, but I know that I have seen one with Don and the blue car from that day..BKH

I believe Mark Fuss knows who the owner of this car was. He told me of a buddy of his from Wis. that had a SY tunnel rammed deuce. I believe Mark said his friends name was John. He told me his friend was killed and the car was for sale for a long time but he did not know whatever happened to it. Mark said this car used to belong to his friend John Commick ( I think this is how it is spelled). John was killed and some friends brought it to the CC Nats to try to sell. This car was sold around 1982 and has since disappeared. Has this car been found?

I had a good visit with Ron Norman at the reunion. That is his car. It's pretty close to done. I think I may have him talked into the NNN nationals at CR next year. Schonye
