Vic & Frank have aged very well.
I used to drive over there from 1978-84 w/others to pick up panels.
I am not surprised they have lasted this long.

Kim,
To answer your question. Camaro Specialties in East Aurora, NY has the 67 Yenko hood. They are excellent looking with steel insert so you can use your hinges.

Call 716-652-7086 for more details.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

So the correct non-stock hood for a '67 Yenko would be a Stinger?

If so, then did Yenko '67s use stock SS hoods early on and go to the Stinger as they became available? That would mean that both SS and Stinger hoods would be correct on a '67 Yenko.

Did Yenko ever put "427" scripts on SS hoods the way Motion did on their first '67 Camaro 427 conversion?

Not trying to nit-pick, just want to know for my own education.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

The Stinger hood was a option on 67s, SS hood would be standard. The hood Camaro Specialties has is made by in South Carolina and is damn close, and damn nice. I just got one for a current project, it is much better then the real ones I used on the Nickey and Yenko I did years ago. I also here they are going up in price next batch due to increased resin cost.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

Frank,
The ones we have now are even better. Not that yours isn't nice. That's how technology is these days.

I have seen a few other companies 67 Yenko hoods and they are not quite correct. Sure ours cost a little more but you get a very nice correct hood.

Kim,
Give us a call if you want a hood. As Frank said they are very nice.

BTW, if you can't get through that's because some clown keeps calling and telling us to "hurry up". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Have a nice day Charley. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Rick, you are selling Don's hood? He told me he was not retailing anymore. I got lucky and found one that someone bought and can't use. I am using it on my kids Pro Touring project. How much are you selling them for? I have another customer that may want one.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

Frank,
I'll check on the price of the hoods today. We are just getting them in and I don't want to quote a price and have it be wrong.

The hoods we are selling are ours and will be sold on a first come and order basis. They are very correct and look great. I am even thinking about putting one on my 67 RS.

I better "hurry" and get to work.

Sidepipes look good but if it wasn`t ordered with them i wouldn`t put them on.(just my opinion)Since so very few 1967 Yenko camaros exist its nice to see when they are restored back to orginal. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

When and if ,I find out what was original. I plan on putting it back that way. If I never find out for sure. I'll put it together the way I would have ordered it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

The 67 I did had sidepipes on the window sticker. We put them back on.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

I have the old USCC magazines when the car was being restored. If i remember correctly the first article had a picture of it with the sidepipes and the stock super-sport hood.Too bad they never showed the car finished. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Kevin, post some pictures from the magazines.

Re: 67 Yenko hood

I have them stored away.I also believe the article shows a copy of the window sticker showing the options.I remember it shows the subframe being restored.I am unable to post them but i could make copies and send them to someone who can. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

ProdigyCustoms 05-03-2005 07:42 AM

Re: 67 Yenko hood

Yeah, it got finished after the club closed. You are correct, there was a pic with the window sticker, and a subframe article was all I got done for the magazine before they were done. I just saw that stuff the other day. I will have to look for it and scan it. according to the window sticker, it was not a glass hood car, but we added one anyway.
I do not even have any pics, There were some in the library and that is gone.

Can anyone tell if this is an Original 67 stinger Hood? I have had it some time and it has the understructure including the pinchwelds. The stinger is grafted into the hood and appears to be hand laid. it has the correct lip as well. also the last picture, anyone have any Ideas on this Hood? Thanks Jim https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif
