SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
My handle is SBR and I have been a member for about a year. I have been a Corvette nut since I was a child and my favorites have always been the L88s and 67 435s. Here are some pictures of my car. This car was purchased new from Larsen Chevrolet in Central City NB. The car sat in the showroom for several months because no one wanted the car due to its unusual color combo. They then painted the car Marina blue and were able to sell it. The car was then driven sparingly and was taken to local shows. Fast forward to 1988, Dan Gale inspected the car and after looking at the trim tag, he realized that the car was an originally a black/blue car. He then had the tank sticker dropped to verify the options and colors on the car. The car was restored by Ken and Gary Naber and was sold to a Corvette collector. He then sold it to a teacher on the east coast who sold it to Kenn Funk. I then purchased the car form Kenn and had Nabers rerestore the car. It still retains its original drivetrain and has won a Bloomington Gold certification, an NCRS Top Flight award and the Chevyvettefest Triple Crown award in 2006. I have been told that this is one of only 4 black/blue 67s known to exist. I truly enjoy this website. Best Regards, Steve Bramati Bruce, I forgot to mention that Chris Piscitello was instrumental in the purchase of this car and feel that it is important to mention as he has found all of my cars and has been a great friend over the years. Thanks, Steve http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0819.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1..._0813_0001.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...R/tn_steve.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0694.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0926.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0920.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0922.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0913.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1..._0810_0001.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0698.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0697.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0696.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0515.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0910.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0918.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0921.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0927.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0931.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_100_0932.jpg |

Very nice car

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
That car has always been one of my favorite Corvettes, even if it is only a 67. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve, great car. I saw it twice last year, once at Bloomington and once at the Vettefest. It was in the back room of the Vettefest against the wall for those that were at the November show. Chris is the guy with the contacts on '67 Corvettes. He was instrumental in the purchase of my '67 big block, too. I bought it from him. I'm still grateful that was willing to part with the car.
The stickers in the window are reproduced by Chris, he made one for 1969 Corvettes from an original that I received when I purchased a car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif |

I can't imagine the dealer having trouble selling it because of the color. To me it's much more appealing than a Black/Red car. Beautiful piece! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Now I really miss my black/blue convertible! Once you go black, you never go back! A definate keeper!

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
And the car looks even better (if you can imagine) in person!
Thanks for sharing the car with us at Vettefest and also for the great pictures; this is one jaw-dropping 67! Yes...Chris in indeed "The Man". BA |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I also drooled over this car at the fall Vettefest. It is more than stunning. By the way it was Steve and Chris that found and helped put together my deal on the '67 435 J56 car that I bought while at the Vettefest. Many thanks!!
Paul ps. It's now in Houston getting the Nabers "magic" put on it. |

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve, I hope you keep this car in a BUBBLE! Don't ever think of selling this baby!

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Killer car! Great combination all the way around. It must have felt out of place in Ken Funk's shop surrounded by all those Mopar's.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve, I think it's going to be tight to have it ready for BG, but I'll be there for sure. I don't know Tim, what should we bring?

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Hello Steve,
I was at Spring Expo Knoxville, TN. The Nabor Brothers had just finished the restoration. They had it on display with 4 other 1967 big block Corvettes in the center of the show. It was a memory that was unforgetable to see those 3 Corvettes the other were red convertible with white and black interior 435 hp, black with black convertible 435 hp, maroon with black interior 435 hp. The paint combo is striking to the eye. Thanks for showing us that very special Corvette. It was good to see it again at Bloomington Gold Certification in 2006. Regards, Drew Papsun |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Paul & Tim, Lets just bring golf carts cruise around and watch all the others sweat over the judging! Chris P.
|
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Sweat over judging? At Bloomington? Never been a more understanding and caring group of judges ever assembled.
|
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I just got clearance to attend Bloomington, there was a conflict that I got ironed out. Paul, I think the Vettefest needs a 427 Mercury to attend this year.....or Chris can bring a '66 L78 Chevelle for judging, along with a golf cart......

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I didn't know that R-Code Mercury's were allowed at Vettefest. Yeah, Chris, Tim, Bruce and I will probably need four passenger golf cart......maybe I'll bring my wifes Prius.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Drew, it was nice talking cars with you at Bloomington last year. Would you happen to have some pics of the old Knoxville show? I have a couple but they are not the best quality. Was the red/white car the "Bertha" 435?
Regards, Steve |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve,
I saw your car for the first time and got to briefly meet you at Vettefest last fall and all I can say about your car is that it is absolutely stunning! Your Corvette is one of if not the most beautiful Corvette I've ever seen! Congrats on owning such a fine machine!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I don't understand why this color combo wouldn't sell in 1967???? This car is beautiful....

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Strange when you see a black/blue combination and how pretty it is that there weren't tons in that color. How about silver/red with a red stinger and redline tires. Just stunning and there were only a handful of these.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
If the "Last Corvette" brought $650k at Barrett Jackson, can you imagine what this beauty would do!

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Black on Blue is a helluva combo... love it.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve...thanks so much for sharing your awesome Corvette with all of us.
The back and blue is truly striking...I can't imagine why it wouldn't have sold that way when new? With the black and blue...it's the true definition of a boulevard 'bruiser'! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I also saw the car at VF and it was without a doubt my favorite Corvette...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Gorgeous example of a fine 67 Vette. I happen to think Black exterior on Blue interior is one of the nicest color combo's you could get in a 67.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Chris, it usually is very hot but since they moved the dates last year and this year two weeks earlier it rained for the first time in over thirty years on certification day last year. I would rather sweat than be sitting in the rain. At least they are going back to the original dates starting next year. Again thanks to all for the great compliments on my car.
