67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
If anyone is familiar with the 66/67 Acadian Sport Deluxe. Did they ever come with the 327/350 L79?. If so would the option package be the same as the Nova SS. What would the code breakdown be and the option package?.

Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
I am pretty sure that that Bob (who has the L79 registry) would tell you that there is no such beast an 1967 L79 Acadian. With only 6 or 7 L79 Novas it is unlikely that an Acadian was built. Still waiting to see the pictures of Beaumont Bill's 1966 L79 Acadian. There was probably only 3 or so built with a bench seat. Rare stuff!

Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
I attended a regional Pontiac event in the late summer of 2005 just outside of Omaha. I saw my first Acadian car at this function. I actually took pictures of it but since have deleted the pics off my camera. I'm fairly sure it was an L79 car but I don't remember if it was a '67 or '66 car. It was a very nice restored car. I think it had Nebraska plates. I would think someone on one of the Pontiac boards would know of this annual event and may know this car.

Not the car I was referring to in the previous post and not the exact model you are inquiring about but maybe a piece in the puzzle......

Is this the car?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-PONT...1QQcmdZViewItem Brian [/ QUOTE ] Yup................no paper work, no history, no claims then whats written, but they get away with consigning it and say thats what the guys says. But they will make no claim to it's validity verbally or written. Nice clone though (if there ever was such a thing in 67) |
Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
In those years all Acadians and Beaumonts were built in Canada so George Zapora will have documentation on them.

Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
ohhawk,
That Invader is amazing! Does the owner have the GM Canada documentation? I have a set of the same valve covers with the Acadian 350 hp decal hanging on my garage wall. L79 Acadians had a different valve cover decal than the L79 Nova. It would be interesting to know the history behind the car. John. |

Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
I spoke with Bob (L79 Registry) and he had these comments on the cars.
"The black 1966 Invader 2 door sedan is perhaps the rarest documented Acadian L79....only 2 options...the L79 and a radio. It's a 3 speed on the column, no posi, no HD suspension, etc. It's in the Canadian L79 Registry. Some investigation has been done on the 1967 SD now on Ebay. It's not an original L79. Seller thinks it might even have been a 283. The engine is probably an L79 1966 Chevy II engine. The car was originally Tahoe Turquoise. The cowl tag is beat up, but probably NOT been messed with. Canadian tags were totally different than U.S......like 4 attaching holes (but only two used) and no mention of General Motors, etc." Thanks Bob, John |
Re: 67 Acadian Sport Deluxe
Thats the same info i came up with also. Someone must have enlightened the seller as he seems more informed now then a few days ago.
