You won't see that in Canada. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
Maybe they'll swap it with a new Challenger when it comes out..

Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
It's a 71 Challenger with 72 Challenger Rallye front fender scoops.
|
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
it used to rotate too. But that was stopped a few years ago too.

Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
The story I got on this car was 5 years ago this woman drove it to the dealership and traded the Challenger on a new min-van The problem was it has her husband’s toy . he was at work and did not know anything about it till he got home I was told there was a big fight at the dealership the guy wanted his car back and told them he was getting back no mater what so the dealership put the challenger on the roof to keep the guy for getting his car back ( what a weasel move) Today It must be killing the guy just to see it up there and my bet is his wife and him are no longer together Hell I drive by it at lest 4 times a week and it kills me seeing it up there I stop by at lest once a month to see if they would sell it but they keep telling me no way Who Know maybe they don’t have the title
To me it a waste to have it up there |
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
Did you ever stop there before the Challenger was there? Sounds like they sold you a couple Jeeps because it was there. I'm sure its paid for the $5K or so they probably gave the lady for it.

Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
Never heard about the husband story and dont believe thats true. Also they gave the lady the minivan even for the car.
Its there for advertising and nothing else...Smart move if you ask me...Its not like its a Hemi car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif BTW It was longer than 5 years ago. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
thats an old wives tale. LOL. do you realize how many permits and hoops they had to drive thru to put that on the roof.? I'm involved with this kind of stuff on a day to day.. its not done on a whim.. and besides that platform had to be designed and approved way before it was put up there.. That had to be in 'design' for almost a year before it was done most likely
and like Don said. Its been there longer then 5 years too [ QUOTE ] The story I got on this car was 5 years ago this woman drove it to the dealership and traded the Challenger on a new min-van The problem was it has her husband’s toy . he was at work and did not know anything about it till he got home I was told there was a big fight at the dealership the guy wanted his car back and told them he was getting back no mater what so the dealership put the challenger on the roof to keep the guy for getting his car back ( what a weasel move) Today It must be killing the guy just to see it up there and my bet is his wife and him are no longer together Hell I drive by it at lest 4 times a week and it kills me seeing it up there I stop by at lest once a month to see if they would sell it but they keep telling me no way Who Know maybe they don’t have the title To me it a waste to have it up there [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
That the story I got at the dealership I somehow get the fealing that he does not have the title for it
I was told there was no way they were every going to sell it so something up evey car has a price many have said there is no power train in it was looking at it today the motor trans it all there by looks it ether a 383 or 440 Can tell were the oil filter and I asked agian today and I got the same answer not for sale but you nerver know Last month the IRS closed them down for a day Gray Barberas owes some back taxes so who know maybe the IRS will end up with it this thing is killing me seeing it sit up there I am going to find out just what the real story is about that car |
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
Maybe there is something hokie about the car and they CAN'T sell it and their stuck with it no matter what. Vin problems, legal issues, who knows?

Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
I believe that Challenger is a 73 Rear clip with a 71 Front end. It used to rotate on the platform it is mounted on. Whatever the dealer paid for it, it has paid for itself because fo all the publicity it has recieved over the years.
|
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
The rear and the front are both 71. 1971 had a very distinctive tail light treatment. It does have 72 Challenger Rallye scoop appliques on the fenders.
In 72 they changed the front end and tail structures to accompany the 5 mph bumper setups which made the cars butt-ugly form that point onward. But it is definitely a 71 |
Re: 70 challenger just wasting away
So, I know this thread is older than dirt and all, but does anyone else see the Mr. Norm's sticker on the back of that car?
