Very sorry to hear of the passing of Verne Frantz! My sincere condolences to his wife Janet.

Verne was a great contributor to the hobby and the ultimate expert on 348/409's and early sixties Chevy's!
He still had the 409 powered '62 Impala SS convertible he drove to high school!
Verne's wealth of knowledge and friendly outgoing personality will be sorely missed!
Verne was known as WGUY on The HAMB.

I've attached some shots of Verne's '62 because I know there was nothing he was more proud of!

so sorry to hear. I remember him at the local NJ shows and the cruise nights at the jackson outlets. What happened to him? Was he sick?

A real gentle man...

So sorry to hear this. Helped me so much when I was on the lookout and eventual purchase of my 67 Big Car. Always a good chat with him at Carlisle.

Classy car for a classy guy. Says a lot about a man who keeps his high school car his whole life

After seeing these pics, I regret now that I did not take pics of Verne and his car when he came over to my place to put his car on my lift to take pics of the underside. RIP :(

Thanks for this thread Dog, hard to believe we've lost him but nice reflecting on Verne's life also passion for W-engines/cars.
In one of his last threads, Verne brought some realities to light about a W-car on eBay also got a kick out if someone referring to him as 'that Verne guy' so 'that Verne guy' he'll forever be.
Here's a couple pics also link to the feature thread on Verne's '62 Bruce posted here a few years back...
