Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
I just talked with my cousin who is a few years older than me. He said he remembers back in the 70's a '69 SS post sedan at a dealer in the Volo IL area that was a 375 HP car. He had never seen one before. The dealer had paperwork with the car and they wanted a lot of money for it. I was just talking to Dan V. and he said he knows the car. Does anyone else?

Tony had this one in the '80's. Sold it in Illinois. It had a hard life after that. We bought it back in the '90's, minus engine, trans, and paperwork. Installed a 350HP and trans. I sold it again out of state in the late '90's, or 2000. Don't know where it is now. |

Randy,
I remember Tony's car when he had it up for auction at the Grayslake Fairgrounds years ago. Nobody seemed to know the signifigance of the 2 dr post cars, and the bidding stalled around $15K. Must have been around '90 - '92. |

I forgot to mention that he is from Clinton Wi (not that that matters) and specifically remembered it being a Blue Post Sedan (Lemans/Marina).

Maybe it was this one.
http://www.bcautos.com/musclecars/69deluxe.html At one time it was in the Chicago area, then Chuck Hanson had it for awhile, then Legendary had it, and now it could be anywhere. |

Rick
I remember both of those cars. Chuck had that car after he sold the L78 convert I think. I believe Tony did have that car at his Muscle Car Mania auction. No one knew what it was. He then sold it to a pretty big collector at the time. We bought it back, as I said, years later sans drivetrain at a special government tax liquidation auction. |
Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
I meant to say I remember the second car, Hanson's. I obviously remember the other because I sold it once!

A little update on the car. I got the floor done and put POR-15 on it.
http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/100_1002.jpg Bought a new dash panel. It came in black and chrome. I painted it blue to match the original one. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/100_0991.jpg I also had a M22 built for the car and just arrived today. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/100_1012.jpg |
