Printed Supercar Registry?

I'm just putting this out there for comment. Is there any appetite for a printed registry on quality paper with larger pictures of the cars? It wouldn't be a "book", more of a magazine style. It would include all of the cars ('67-'70) that are in our registries. Cost would just offset expenses - no profit motive.

Great question Bruce. I like that idea myself. Love digital but still have a soft spot for printed materials when appropriate.

The second it’s printed it is obsolete

How often are new cars added? I’d imagine weekly?

Yeah - we aren't registering many more cars these days, but we do get a fair amount of new pictures. Some have complained that the on-line registry pictures are too small & when you expand them they are blurry. I was thinking that a printed registry with larger, high quality pictures would be of interest to some. Also, a print book just seems to give cars more Legitimacy for some reason. It would be like the Shelby Registry was in its infancy. Not sure that it's worth the effort though - keep the comments coming please. It would probably be about 100 to 150 pages with decent size pictures.

I think it's a great idea Bruce, especially with so many registries gone that were once electronically kept.
Even Photobucket holds us hostage.
I've been writing everything down and keeping my own records & photos of cars for decades, enough to make a book.
Even when I put things online,I still have my hard card photos & pen to paper notes to reference.
A printed hardbound copy does make it more time consuming to share with others, but it's better then being all completely erased with no record at all.
Keep some extra blank pages in the back of your book for buyers to add notes of newer car finds in the future.
I'd be a buyer of your book today.

Thanks for all of he great ideas and PMs regarding the registry. It's still open for community discussion - the information in it is a community effort. Bob has generously offered to provide a table space at MCACN this year for the SYC site & the registry. Time permitting, maybe I'll get all of the data cleaned up (misspellings, etc.) and straightened up - and print a couple of "books" just for review & discussion at the event.

SYC table might also be a good place to pick up name tags & connect - unless that issue is already taken care of elsewhere.

In the meantime - please get any pictures and car registrations in (PM me to connect) for the next registry update that will be posted soon.
