2019 Northern Ohio Regional Chevelle Show
I want to thank everyone who attended the 2018 Northern Ohio Regional Chevelle Show. The event was a great success for our Charity of Choice - "Toys for Tots" We collected over 520 toys.
This past weekend at our fall picnic, we gave a Check to the Marines for the Toys for Tots Program for $3500, we gave away fabulous prizes, had a short membership meeting, and we announced the Theme of our 2019 Chevelle Show. We are still negotiating with the Hotel so you will need to give us a month or so before registration is open. Here is a short video from our Picnic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP_hzofyN3U |
Waiting for you to say “Go”! :)

Looking forward to the 2019 show!

Thanks Mark and crew for another great time...:worship:
My 5 yr old grandson is really getting into it. He loved the rides on the gulf car and when he showed interest in one fellas 3 wheeled mobility scooter they became buddies and Ryan took him for a extended tour around the show field. Mike |

Here is a link to the registration for the show. https://photos.app.goo.gl/QvU56a2dAdb9Q5CH6 |
FYI - our Treasurer Ken Smith has resigned. He needs to work on staying healthy this year and by stepping down, it will remove the stress of this show. I have uploaded new registration forms, we will be working with Ken to transfer all the files to myself as we identify a new treasurer. Ken and I work together on registrations all year so you folks should not notice any difference.
We only have 200 spots in the parking lot. below is a link to the form and also sponsor opportunities. https://photos.app.goo.gl/QvU56a2dAdb9Q5CH6 |
just mailed in my registration last week to Ken Smith in Akron.

No problem. |
FYI - The Show is Sold out - We are not accepting anymore registrations. We are well beyond our target of 200. Thank you to all for making the 1969 Chevelle's 50th anniversary a huge success with over 85 1969 Chevelles registered. I hope to see just as many 1970 Chevelles next year.
|
The "Summer of '69" will be in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn @ Strongsville, Ohio.
I can't wait :) Dan |
The number of Chevelles exceeded our goal of 200 and is now maxed out at 237. We are not accepting anymore registrations. Please watch the intro to my newsletter for important information.

It's right around the corner. I believe there is 102 or 106 69 Chevelles that will be in attendance.

I've been waiting for this all year and am now getting everything ready for the trip. I hope to meet many of the '69 owners from this site and see their Chevelles. It should be a great time!

Safe travels Robert. I'll have the Daytona Yellow ragtop there. I think I'm the only one..

Are there any details for the racing event at Dragway 42? For example, what time the facility opens up, admission fee, will they have someone tech the car, is there race gas available, etc...?
Thanks, Kurt |
Kurt, I sent you a PM..

Rich & Dan could you pass that track info along to me also as I would like to go also. What is needed for tech inspection?
Thanks, Phil. |
Phil,
The track night is Thursday August 1st at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Oh. It's approximately 40-45 minutes from the Holiday Inn where the show is. The gates open at 4 PM and racing starts at 6 PM. Last year the track had a designated staging line just for the Chevelle Show attendees. I'm sure it will be the same this year. If I recall it was like $20.00 to race for the evening. As far as tech, it was very informal last year. One guy was doing it. He would look over the car briefly and ask what ET you run and mark the windows accordingly. The track is very nice. It was recently re done. If you go to their website they have additional information. I would follow NHRA rules as far as helmets, fire suits and roll bars are concerned. I don't know what kind of ET you run. Hope this answers your questions.... Rich |
There will be an actual Police security detail again at the show. Strongsville Police have been hired by the club to provide security. They will be in marked police vehicles. There also will be security at the mall area for trailer parking. The hotel will have a shuttle service to transport to and from your trailers. Just an FYI.

Just an update on the racetrack itinerary. Anyone going down can just go on their own. There is no organized caravan of people going down from the club on Thursday. Racing is $20.00 and spectators are $10.00. There WILL be a designated staging lane for the Chevelle Show attendees. If you want to race someone I suggest you get together in the designated staging line bumper to bumper. When you get close to the tree you can advise the track employees you want to race your buddy and they will let you stage together.
If you decide not to go to the track, other Thursday night festivities at the hotel include the band duo 55th and Broadway outside in the parking lot and the original 1969 movie The Italian Job will be shown outside on the big screen after dark. Have fun and be safe!! Rich |

One of the best shows I have had the privilege in attending in many years. The comradery and brotherhood amongst these people were second to none and they rolled out the carpet to make everyone feel at home. This was our first year of attending/sponsoring the show and everyone went out of their way to make us feel a part of it. There was something for everyone so bring the whole family. You will NOT be bored. You can also spectate and/or race at one of the nicest drag facilities I have ever been to. Thanks to Dan Vasic for the personal invite. The cars in attendance were amazing and the people were even better. Next year I will bring a bunch of beer for you guys. Always food and drink for anyone who was hungry or thirsty. Just give a little donation to the Toys for Tots program if that works for you.

Yes....see you in November :) Dan |
Thank you all so much for supporting and attending the show. I don't ever think I worked so hard on what is supposed to be a vacation for myself. I barely had a chance to look at cars on Saturday as we counted votes and put the awards ceremony together. The volunteers in this organization are awesome! Toys For Tots, Mobility World, and Littlest Hero's will appreciate all the money we raised for their organizations!
We need a 1970 Cheerleader like Dan Vasic was for the 69's! - See ya next year! |

Unfortunately it was announced today that the 2020 Northern Ohio Chevelle Club show has been cancelled. Looks like I will definitely be going to SCR now.
|
I will certainly miss seeing everyone at this great show!!!
Certainly the right decision but a tough one to make. Ryan W31 |
We support the Best Chevelle Show on the planet.....see you all in 2021 :)

^^^^ What Dan said
|
According to the President, Vice President and Treasures of the club, They were responsible for making the decision to cancel the show. They said it was a very difficult decision to make, which I know it was. They are putting our club members, participants and spectators first to keep everyone safe during this COVID 19 issue. We have quite a few older members that may be at a higher risk of contracting the virus. We also have members that travel far distances to come to the show.
It does stink but the show will be back for next year... Rich |
