Old School Cool One That Got Me Started

I was at a local cruise inn this evening when I observed from across the parking lot a 78 Rally Sport two tone with a dual quad set up protruding out from under the hood. I knew of only one car in my area like this and knew it had to be my old neighbor's Camaro. Sure enough it was and he still owns it after all these years. He bought it new. This was the car that got me into street muscle. My neighbor was 10 years older than me and as a little kid I remember going over to his house and being mesmerized by this car. The car hasn't been out in nearly 27 years and it is still just like I remember it. 327 dual quads 488 gears Cragar SSTs. All old day 2 speed part equipped. I remember seeing the day 2 build on this car from the day it was bought new. It was shown at the 1983 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals. It was great to see my old neighbor and this car again.... Brought back lots of memories....

I always loved the paint on those '70s Rally Sport Camaros. Cragar SSTs look good too.

That car has everything needed to be a player at the Street Machine Nationals in the early 80's:headbang::headbang::headbang:

That's a beauty, and it looks like it's in amazing original shape except for the Day 2 mods. My first car was a '76 Rally Sport light blue/black, doggy 305 auto, with Hurst Hatches. Slow as molasses on a January day, but still a fun car. It was totaled when I bought it and my dad and I put a new front end on it after pulling the frame, then like an idiot I sanded the whole car down and painted it 1980 Corvette Blue. Still wish I would have listened to my dad and just left it two toned. Rest in peace dad.
Thanks for the memories.
