'69 L72 Biscayne
Hard to tell exactly how this car was ordered when new, but appears to be a V8 car at the very least. Not sure what to make of the trim tag either....

69 Biscayne
Vin # shows Wilmington DE plant , Trim Tag shows Tarrytown NY plant
Y= Wilmington DE T= Tarrytown NY Trim Tag TAR = Tarrytown NY BW = Wilmington DE |
Also makes no sense that it took 10 months between order date and production date.

Has a Impala hood on it also. The Biscayne hood has the Chevrolet script in the left side of the front edge of the hood.

Seller has now corrected the VIN in the eBay listing to show a 'T' for Tarrytown rather than a 'Y' for Wilmington DE. He also has a picture of the VIN on the dashboard in the Google link that he posted at the bottom of the listing. Since the letters 'T' and 'Y' are adjacent on the keyboard, I guess it's a believable mistake.
Another thing I find odd is this: the guy who originally ordered the car (according to the story provided) was on Long Island in NY. Given that Baldwin Chevrolet, also on Long Island, was well known in the area for having L72 Biscaynes in stock, why would you wait 11 months for the one you ordered from some other non-performance oriented dealer to show up? I know I would have given up waiting long before 11 months time had passed. |
----Who knows? Maybe he reallllly wanted Monaco Orange?......Bill S

"... more collectable car than the 1970 SS454 450 horsepower Chevelle..."
NOPE. Some people never let the truth get in the way of a good story :) |
