'61 Biscayne #s 409/4-sp, 14,000 Miles
Boy is this sweet - is anyone here familiar with the car and whether it's legit?

The car brings up more questions than answers. The motor was replaced and it's not a '61 409. And I can't read the other numbers on the deck. Wrong tach and wrong washer reservoir for a 1-spd wiper. A cowl tag photo would help a little. By the VIN I'd say it's a 6D or 7A car. It would need an eyes-on exam.
The trans would be unique if it was an original '61 409 car. That's all I can offer on it for now. Verne Never mind. I found the cowl tag in the full size photos. It was originally a small block car. |

Just so people are aware, I tried a google search on the VIN of this car and this thread does not come up. Other than the current sellers ad, a Hemmings listing and ebay listing, all that came up was a report from a 2005 auction where it sold for $30K.
So the awareness to people by this means doesn't seem to be working as hoped. Verne |
It works when you type it into the Yenko.net search box,which is the only reason I type a vehicles VIN into a topic.
