This car is coming up for auction in January at TOM MACK -
I went and looked the car over about a month ago, unfortunately my SD card was damaged prior to downloading and the smartphone photos I have are terrible.
Best photo of cowl tag I have is attached.
The car is about an hour away from me so it would not be difficult to get some new photos if someone is interested.

THE GOOD...
REAL L78 PACER - my opinion is the tags do not appear to have ever been removed from the car.

The engine is a 67 L78 T0413MQ with a sister car's VIN -7N212xxx which is from a very close car and theoretically could have come in this car. The last 3 vin digits have too much paint to make out.

Fresh restoration... of what appears to have been a solid rust free car - appearance is very nice and the fit/finish is better than new- body panels/floor pans etc show no signs of rust pitting etc.

Well optioned - 04C, L78, M21, RS, tinted windshield only, rear bumper guards, remote mirror, deluxe seat belts (all), console, equipped with tilt as well. and the - (dash) in the 5 group.

I told the they should obtain a NCRS shipping report and remove the paint from the broach pad with paint stripper or lacquer thinner... and DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVES - they may get the shipping report - doubt they will remove the paint.

Was the car in Tenneessee prior?

The seller consulted with me prior to consigning the car.

Looks to be an honest late April dealer ordered Pace Car replica.

What about the 5000 rpm red line tach?

Built with bumper guards and remote mirror, not present in the photos. No seat belts? Rear antenna with AM/FM?

More than a few problems here.

William,

It is a restoration and it has some points that do not add up. It does however look like it is the real deal - and today with all of the fakery going on that is saying something.

CHUCK -I am not sure where the car was prior to being restored or presented here, the owner restorer was said to live in the CHAPIN SC area.

When I was contacted about the car I asked a few questions and I was told the owner/restorer was a older gentleman who was into Impalas or Chevy II's and this was the only Camaro he restored or owned. They said the car had a L78 engine but the owner did not know if the car originally came with a L78, but thought for sure it was a real pacer and might have been a 350 (hp?)- (I believe he thought it was a L34 which was not offered in 67).
TOM MACK did not want to misrepresent the car, more or less they wanted someone to tell them if it was a pacer, the fact that the car is a REAL L78 pacer was something they did not expect.
HONESTLY I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when I saw the tags and realized it was real.

Does anyone know the contact information of the current owner? I believe the car is currently in Montana.
