68 Camaro MV Coded Block
I have a 1968 MV Block (T0524MV Pad Stamp) that I would like to re-unit with the car if possible. Don't know if it's a Non-Converted car or a Yenko Conversion. Either way it would be cool to have the block with the original car.
If I can't re-unit I'll consider selling to someone looking for a dated block for a real car. I will not provided the VIN, so if you have a 68 Camaro from Yenko Chevrolet Dealership missing the engine contact me with your VIN for confirmation. My block's VIN is not in the Registry. According to the NCRS Docs the Production Date of the car was 07/16/68 |
IMO - obviously if it is stamped MV and is original stamp, then it was installed and intended to be converted - ordered as a 68COPO Camaro - with the MM trim tag.
Based that stamp date the build date sounds correct for next to the last batch of 68COPO cars. Last batch was 07E trim tag build. The VIN not in the registry is a mystery unless overlooked. The VIN should match a known 68 YENKO car, as the assumption is the motor was pulled at the dealer and sold off, while the 427 short block was installed. The other option might have been it was the car was sold off as a hipo 68 - like some of the late non converted cars that we know of. (there are 3 non converted cars that we know of uncovered today) All 07E builds. Would be exciting to reunite this! |
