Very Cool '73 #s Z/28 LT Barn Find, $9900

Neat car that obviously needs a LOT of sheetmetal, but still retains the original engine and looks like it could even be driven with some work. Not a lot of good '70-73 Z/28 resto candidates out there sub $10k but this is probably one of them...

If anyone here buys it, I have a minty black 4-spd console with nice original arm rest.

Wow, that is almost a re-body. Rear frame rails are rusted out ahead of the axle. He tried to take pics showing the floor is good, but I can see rust issues with the braces at the rockers, so I know there will be more.
Hagerty valuation puts a #2 car at $38,000 and there's no way this car would ever reach even that level and be under that price.

Neat car, but in it's condition, it would dang near need to be a give away to not go under water immediately. If it's for long term personal use, it would be a labor of love, like most of my junk...

X-3. Had a Buddy in High School order a Red one new, what a slug. Iron Intake low horse, 1973. Even when it's done it just doesn't have the value as a 1972 or earlier Z-28 car does. I'm Just Sayin' Bill

Rear valence panel looks like it's all bondo!

It is also listed on Facebook for $9,999.

I guess I love it so much because it looks so much like the Midwest muscle era cars did in the late 1980s, early 1990s era.

Pre- urethane bumpers makes it look like it's still in the muscle car era. I hear ya on the rust "patina". We have that in MN and WI too and it's all too common and just as destructive to the vehicles.

Where I work, we have 1 guy that all he does is repair/rebuild frames under trucks and suv's, mostly Toyota's, but there are plenty of Ford and Chev's that come thru too. We've seen if for 6 years now, but with the current shortage of vehicles, the requests to save a rusted vehicle far outnumber the vehicles he can keep up with.

Yep, exactly. Detroit is odd in the sense that we have so many new cars on the road with nearly everyone working in some facet of the industry (company cars, development cars, etc). When I visit my folks in Milwaukee, I'm always surprised to see how much older stuff is still on the road. IIRC the average registered vehicle age is ~12yr, which is a heck of a lot of salt exposure year after year.

I wish I had taken pics of all the cool cars just sitting around in my neighborhood back in the 1980s.
