Cragar Rims on 68 Camaro

Just finished the rebuild on my 427 and looking to swap out these 90's Weld wheels for some Cragars. I have looked long enough for round spokes with no success so I am just going to order some flat spokes for the front. Torn between 15x4.5 or the 15x6 for the front. Issue is...I have 4 piston calipers and backspacing is an issue. If you are running Cragars on less than a 7" rim, what is your combo of backspace and spacer? Really dont want to swap to single piston.

Cragar on front

I have Cragar SS 15x4 round spoke and have two piston disc on the front of my 67. I used a 1/2 inch spacer but could have got by with a 3/8. You have to use extra long shank Mag lug nuts and cut them down to the proper length. I drilled my spacer out to the size of the nut shank did as to let the shank set deeper on the lug bolt. Left about a 1/16 to play on.
We have a machine shop at work and those guys help me figure out all length measurements and it didn’t cost me anything. They used a mill to cut them and used a tap to clean up the threads.
I installed them a torqued them to 100 foot lbs. and they never came loose. Doing it this way you don’t have to change out the lug bolts to longer one like most racers use. I can go back to the stock steel wheel and all is as factory correct.

I have original 15x4's on the front of my 67 which has 4 piston Baer brakes, No fitment issues or spacers needed. And do your self a favor, keep looking for original round spokes, You wont be happy with the newer version !!!

I will keep looking for round spokes, but I need to get rid of these rims on the car now which are old Weldwheels by Cragar. I was hoping to get away without spacers in the front, but it does not sound like it is possible with these factory calipers.

This isn't a great picture but I bought a set of new direct drill cragars for the Nova. 15x4 1/2 & 15x7. Only a handful of people would know the difference between these and a 50 yr old cragars other than the rust on the old ones. I have original round spoke on another car. I like these alot too though.

What size tires are you using? Are they pro trac? Thanks Earl

The front appear to be Firestone pie crusts from Coker and size looks like 6.40.15. The rears almost look like drag radials but I'd say those are M&H from the looks of them. Definitely not Pro Tracs.

The fronts are Coker 6.40-15. a Firestone deluxe champion. The rear are M&H J60-15. Here's a pic with the engine installed. It brought the front down where it should be.
