This is the eng in a 69 car that was a gm engineering test vechicle delivered to the chevrolet engineering center in michigan when new. Iam assuming it was installed by them since the car is pretty orig but was wondering what u guys think of the stamp? Its a #512 block Thanks.

looks like it is a 1970 CE

My guess is that they replaced the engine before it left the engineering center. Some of these vehicles were used for testing. If so, the engine probably would have been replaced before the vehicle was sold. I'm assuming the SDR came back Zone 00 Dealer 502.

Didnt send for the ncrs docs yet but the p.o.p says chevrolet engineering center and this sticker is on the door which is pretty cool.

1970 warranty engine as already mentioned, based on the sequence number it was assembled at Tonawanda.

^Also a 1970 warrantied block.Makes sense as the 1969 Camaro & Corvette ran over into 1970 production.
Scott, what '69 car is that 1970 CE block out of?..Camaro?

William 07-21-2020 05:15 PM

Last 1969 Camaro was produced on or about November 7, 1969.
