Re: Canuck and Edgemont Villages new Shop
The last two weeks of March had a lot of moving parts as a lot of interior work was being done:
Electrical routing Led Lights arrived and installation began. Floor grinding and application of epoxy. Drainage http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...sdoslvmrt.jpeg Test area for floor epoxy http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ssuhdabyp.jpeg Filling the divots http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...siqcbmyyc.jpeg Our cladding for the back wall arrived on Mar 26 and the plan was to have start installing it that weekend. With heavy rain tha last week of March we decided we needed to install a drain. This turned out to be a full weekend project renting concrete cutting saws (we broke the first one)jack hammers and digging through clay that had not been touched in 60 years. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pstimytadh.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psyrfv9ggg.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psbqges8lo.jpg Drainage pipe in wrapped with cloth and taped. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps184fkxjy.jpg Add gravel. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psjaihi7ed.jpg |
Re: Canuck and Edgemont Villages new Shop
We made the decision to use LED lights through out the shop, split into a few zones with a dimmer on the high bay lights.
Lighting arrived. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psksfgrank.jpg Going up. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psnl8vwbxp.jpg Bright lights http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psabjerqzz.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pstc80rxxe.jpg In keeping with a vintage look we also purchased some barn lights, I got this inspiration from Sam Griffiths when he installed a real vintage light in his shop.We went with Edison Style Led bulbs, not a lot of light but great effect. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...sqwcvjl43.jpeg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...sx6dr2drp.jpeg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psy0ktmpt4.jpg |

Re: Canuck and Edgemont Villages new Shop
The first week of April. We had several rooms inside that mended attention, one is being designated the "machine Room". Home for all buffers, grinders, drill press, hydraulic press. Lloyd called it the Alice in Wonderland room as it wasn't square, plum or flat. It needed new drywall and an Old filled in door that led to the neighbours front lot.

Lloyd solicited our neighbour Greg, who runs a woodworking business across the street. Greg has been a great help on many occasions, including Drywall. He has also come to our assistance many times with his forklift. For compensation he would only take contributions of a decent Red Wine. Greg refers to Lloyd and I as "office workers". http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...swqk1dj53.jpeg Primed and first coat of paint. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psiwbd8vee.jpg |
Re: Canuck and Edgemont Villages new Shop
Back outside, with good weather forecast we opted to have the back lot paved. Remember all that overgrowth, it turned out to be Japanese Knotweed a very invasive and re occurring weed. Our New lot only looked like this for two weeks as the Knotweed grew back through the ashphalt. We will be getting some new paving done next spring.
Before the paving started we needed to remove the old Chimney. I wanted to use the big ass tow strap and truck. The chimney seemed wobley enough so we thought it would come down with a push!
