Value Help

I dont really mess with the 67 Z28s however this car is a local find to me. It's an original family 67 Z with the RS option. All the drive train is original however as you can see the car needs resto. Car had NOS quarters still in the box. Real 4L, original motor, trans and rear. Pretty crusty but solid, i dont think the quarters need replaced. Any idea as to what the value may be in it's current condition?

Is the trunk open or did someone bolt a spoiler on it ? If all the hard to find stuff is still there I would guess 50K +

Good eye Charlie, someone did in fact mount a spoiler. Thanks for the reply.

I think with all orignal drivetrain, RS is worth $60K and up from what I see.
This is a very rare find if true. Not many of the remaining still retain their original drive train.

I paid 35K for a mostly rust free roller RS with original rear that was highly optioned.

I guess it depends on how rusty it really is.

I wonder of this is a known car in the 67z registry??

Thank you for the input. Yes, car is definitely the real deal. Not sure if it's in the registry but if not, hopefully it will be soon. It's really a neat car. Thanks again!

Yes this Z is in the registry.
The engine is a '67 Z, but not original to this car.
The late OO was my best friend, I have known it since new.
The current owner, the OO's son, says "NOT in a million years for sale", and he knows what it is worth.

I would be happy to answer questions about the car as long as it's understood, Not for sale!

If I sound a bit defensive, I have deflected potential buyers in the past.

Thank You,
Bill Wente

what is the vin# on the engine? is it a MO or MP engine?

I'd say 55k - due to NOM; assuming everything else is there. Good color, RS, wood wheel and vinyl top help.

These cars are very undervalued in my opinion. That being said, on the right day with that buyer that really wants a 67 Z now, may do better, and maybe I am out of touch..but, I have owned 3 67 Z’s... wrong motor, needs restored will be lucky to get 40k. A lot depends on what parts are missing also... distributir3500..carb..1000...fan..1500, correct wheels..etc.etc.

I really don’t understand that if the car is still in the OO’s family, not for sale in a million years, the son knows what’s its worth, etc. Then why was a “Value Help” thread even started. I’m just confused here cuz it sounds like chum being thrown out in the water . . .
