If (I) was skipped as a month identifier and J is September, it was produced on my wife's 5th birthday...

And it would have been for a 1967 application. That's all I know about it..:hmmm:

I ran a search on the part number you posted and assume that it is off the main winding body, as I find that number on MANY GM starters from Pontiac, Cadillac and Chev, small and big block. That body is interchangeable with all the nose cones listed, so the part number is, generally, generic in nature. I didn't find, or really look too hard, for info on the specific electrical capacities.

It is a High torque starter for GM vehicles. 1107xxx early to mid 60s, 1108xxx late 60s to mid 70s, 1109xxx late 70s to mid 80s. Lots of numbers and lots of interchangeable parts from all years listed.

I have a Delco-Remy starter stamped like the one in post #1. Except the part number is 1109056 and the rest of the stamp is 6J13 5. What is the meaning of the 5 after the date code? Supposedly this starter is for 1963-66 327 engine or 1962 327 engine w/automatic transmission.

McCune gave the part number vs date range just above you. 1109xxx is 70's - 80's. As for the 5 I am not sure. Possibly an assembly line marker (IE Line 5) but that is just a guess.
