The finned drum is a replacement. The drum should not separate from the hub.

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
looking at your pics I bet your car weould look really good with a little wet sand and rub
|
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Don't tell Ryan Brutt (Barn Find/Hidden Gem Display organizer for MCACN) but I polished a tiny spot under the car and agree if will look driver ready with a serious scrub!!
Especially the drivers side has huge scratches. It looks like someone threw a few bicycles against it. I will get these little issues fixed and have the stripes put back on the hood and I think it will be looking good. |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
take a small panel to your local automotive paint store and have them shoot it with a color gun and get it mixed in lacquer. You can build up the paint in the scratches then wet sand and rub. You wont be able to tell they were there

See ya soon, Sam </div></div> "Start the car" I am on the way:-) Sounds great let's make it happen! I would love to get a feel for the W-31 package (as mine is pretty quiet). If you have a 3.42 rear M20 car I would like to see what mine would have acted like before the M22 showed up:-) Ryan |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Bought Lucas rear end gear lube, need to stop by the Ford dealer for posi additive:-) Gasket on order.....
I bought a Battery Tender and I don't even have a battery:-) The price of the R59 Delco repop battery has me a little she'll shocked so I want to give it a good long life with a nice trickle charger:-) Ryan |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Note: If you are getting one of the R59 reproduction batteries that is the sealed, maintenance free, gelmat (AGM) style and not an old acid filled, wet style, make sure you have a battery tender specifically for that type of battery. Some of the tenders are not compatible with both styles.
I assume this was the battery you were looking at? http://www.restorationbattery.com/r59.html |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
I shared this thread with the Stagers so they would understand what I plan to do with their ol car, also to offer for them to share in the MCACN experience. Everyone loves chatting with the original owner of a cool Muscle Car!!
I was concerned they wouldn't get it, but both were very happy to see such a great group of car guys sharing info and ideas. Plan to have a little BBQ with the Stages and the Weavers. Ryan PS: If I am a little quieter than normal in the next month I am building decks and doing patios with Dad:-) |
