Vintage pics of my Stepdad's 69 Super Bee.

My Stepdad sent these to me last night. First time I'd seen pics of the car that he has talked about forever. 4 speed car.

First pic is circa 1970, second is 1971-72.

For 1969, there'd be Y2 pale yellow or Y3 cream (don't remember their names), but I think it's white.

Yes, Y2. That's what I was thinking of. Agree that it looks white but that Y2 in old photos looks white.

Cheers

Thanks, Dave.

It was Y2 yellow. He bought it from his cousin, who bought it new. The cousin was stationed in Germany while in the service so he sold it to my Stepdad for $1,000 in 1971. What a deal! he told me that his parents held their breath the entire time he had that car. lol. I can imagine as my Stepdad has told me many stories of he and his buddies racing around McAlester, Ok. back then.

He sold it in 1973-74 for $1,400 and bought a Torino GT.

Well, I'm about 90% sure that I have found my Step Dad's old Super Bee. A picture popped up on Instagram about a Y2 Super Bee being pulled out of a barn in Oklahoma, 2 hours from where my Step Dad lived when he owned the Super Bee. Same color, same engine and trans combo.

I think the odds that a twin to his car ended up 2 hours away are just too high. It's very likely the same car. Talked to the owner and it's for sale. It comes with the non numbers 383 and 4 speed and has no interior. It's beat to hell too.

Car is rough but solid enough to save. Trunk pan and lower quarters are rusty. Floors and top look pretty solid.

The thing is, my Step Dad has decided to pass on it. We both think it's too expensive($11,500) as it sits now. I was surprised that he didn't even really want me to try and put a deal together on it. He has talked about this car for the last 35 years.

That car would look awesome restored. Send it to Dave, he could have it ready by MCACN!
