DAMN someone got a deal, MECUM Kissimmee
I think this was a deal:
https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-39...rst-scrambler/ MUST have had some major issues????? |
What did it sell for?
|
$26,400
|
Three of those there (maybe more, haven't looked at all the days) and a Machine too. It seems like a good deal but if it's not a Camaro/GTO/Mustang/Shelby or Mopar the values seem to plummet.

Not sure if the Bullet Mustang being there kept people from buying or bidding for fear or thoughts the deep pockets guys just might snatch it up??? |

Yes Lee there some cars did well. I thought the Buick GS stuff seemed soft too if you asked me. Thought I saw a few GS 455 under 50K and a Stage 1 ragtops for mid 60's?
Was this the auction that was to have 10 '69 Z28's on the same day??? |
How about that powder blue 69 Camaro RS/SS 350.
Seemed to me buyers of musclecars are paying more for luxury in lieu of performance. Sort of like the old blue book guides, "add 20% for air conditioning" 10% for power windows" etc... Hemi money for a 383 pimpmobile. |

Anyone know who bought it? I still have the entire photo album of my adventures finding it and rebuilding the engine back in 1988. It was a garage find that took me two years of negotiating, to buy. I sold it in 1994 to NFL player Kevin Greene who then sold it to Wellborn after a few years. It bid to $375,000 back in 2015 when Wellborn had his other big Mecum auction fest. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0115-20...er-rt-sunroof/ |
