Thoughts on 837 Alternator Stamp

Hi Guys, I was looking for your thoughts/Opinions on this 1969 837 Alternator stamp. Does it look Legit?? Story told to me is it’s been off a 1969 Z28 since early 1980’s. It does look to me like it’s never been apart or rebuilt. Still having what I believe is it’s original finish. Thanks Rob

Looks fine to me. That date is seen on March & May Norwood cars.

Interesting...not April?

There probably were April dates; do not have a lot of data.

Have 2 N625xxx and 4 N642xxx-N645xxx VINs with 9C24 837 alternator.

So is that housing cracked?

m22mike 11-07-2019 04:24 PM

that's not a crack, it is a step in the casting mold. Looks magnified in that close up.

That has not been messed with at all. Very nice stamp..
