Malibu SS Convertible, #s 327/300/4-sp, Super Nice

I love this - sold new by Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina, CA. Even has the dash clock - everything but the L79.

Considering the POP is made out to Clippinger - might have been a dealer demo?

----What's up with the one interior shot showing only two pedals and an auto shifter? It even appears to be Evening Orchid...….Bill S

Great eye Bill!! Definitely warrants a phone call to the seller with an explanation. Looks like LF fender has been repainted, maybe even the hood??

I love these cars, but just a couple observations. The left front fender looks to have been repainted. Also as mentioned earlier the pic with the auto shifter is a red flag. The ad also states that Evening Orchid was an SS only option. This is not true as it was available on just about any GM vehicle in 1965. Lastly, The seller states that AC was installed at the dealer, but looks to have factory vents.

Good eye Bill. The cowl tag does show 2LP. I don't know why it would have a picture without a clutch pedal and 1 giant brake pedal. What about the shift boot? Shouldn't it be tight to the shifter? It looks like a straight channel. :dunno:

Looks like the same car and was converted from auto to 4 speed. Even the radio looks the same.

Isn't P 3rd line on the POP for Muncie?

Well, the cowl tag show the 2L which would be 4 speed. It's almost as if it was converted to an auto and then put back to 4 speed. Unless of course the cowl tag is repopped, but that would mean changing the POP too. Anybody think the cowl tag or POP doesn't look right? The POP shows P1106 for the trans and P is Muncie.

Very possible. I know of several people who converted their 4 speed car to auto. The owner could have put it back the way it was.

The page won't open to view but there's an Original Owner ad for this car in the May 17, 1980 LA Times.
I'll try again later but preview as below notes RTZ506 Plate # also 1 owner + Tilt and PW.
:beers:
