Zedder (Mark Kane's) 1967 RS SS350 !

Back in March of this year, I came across this car on ebay. I reached out to the owner to get more info and he sent me an inspection report that Jerry MacNeish completed in 2012. I noticed that the report was done for one of my car friends, Chris Tucker. It turned out that Chris restored the car. Anyway, the seller wanted a pretty steep price for a small block car, so I didn’t bother making an offer even though I really liked the car. Fast forward to last weekend and while I am talking to Chris on the phone, I mentioned his old Red SS. He filled me in on the restoration and a little history on the car. He said that it was the most rust-free Camaro that he had done and that the under-carriage and components were virtually pit free. I mentioned how much I liked it and he assured me it would meet my expectations should I go after it.
Chris had mentioned that the car had been on the Cover of Hemmings, so I thought that the owner might not know that and might be interested in locating a copy. I emailed him and told him and he responded back that he actually had a copy of the magazine and he mentioned that he was really motivated to sell the car. I asked him to give me his bottom line on the car and a few hours later we had a deal! It’s a 1967 RS SS350 in Bolero Red with Parchment Deluxe interior, M20 4 speed, 3.31 posi rearend, tinted windshield, fold down rear seat, console with gauges, power disc brakes, power steering, AM radio, rear antenna, front and rear bumper guards and interior décor package. The drive-train is original and verified in the report and the car scored 984 out of 1000 at the Camaro Nationals Bow Tie class and was also Legends judged and won an AACA Senior 1st place prize. I don’t know much about the history other than that it was delivered new to Courtesy Chevrolet in Medford, Oregon and Chris found it in Las Vegas in the early 2000’s. The car has travelled 1,200 miles since its restoration and looks like it hasn’t traveled 100! I am thrilled to be the new owner after not owning a ‘67 since 2004. The plan is to ship it up here and have Fastco give it a quick once over before bringing it home and driving it to a cruise night every once in a while. Many thanks to Chris Tucker for his help in pushing me off the ledge on this one! |
I can't imagine taking delivery of that car in 1967, that must have attracted some attention on the road.
Thanks Guys! I’ve looked for a nice 67 for a long time and always came up short. I’m really happy with this one and the seller has been great to work with.

Yep...other cars since then, but not a Camaro!
Mark, not only was this car on the cover of Hemmings Motor News, it was also the car used in the December 2011 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines for their ‘67-‘69 Camaros buyer’s guide article. Complete with an “Owner’s View” story from Christopher Tucker.

Absolutely beautiful car!! Congratulations.
Wow,congrats Mark!!
congratulations on your new 67
When you think about it, there were too many great Camaros to comprehend in 1967. It was Camaro overload The SS 350 Camaro never got the attention it deserved as the SS 396 and Z/28 stole the limelight That 350 Chevy was a great engine that went on to power millions of cars and trucks for the next 50 years |
Wow what a super nice car!! Congrats on pursuing it and buying it.
It just doesn't get any better than this 67. It's checked off all the boxes for me, especially the parchment interior. Congratulations on living the dream!
Thanks guys!

Got confirmation that all is good with the Customs broker and Shipping company, so it should be here in a few weeks! Paul (Fastco) has offered to receive the car from the shipper to save me a tow to his shop. Thanks again, Paul!
I love your new car Mark. I really like the red exterior with white stripe and interior. I've always liked white interiors even though I've never had one and they must be a pain to keep clean. Congrats on your purchase.
Thanks Mario! I probably would have picked black interior if I was buying the car new myself, but I do love the way this car looks.
