Lyman Slack Motors Portland Ore.

Does anyone have a car from this Chevrolet dealer with a Protecto Plate intact? Mid to late 60's circa. I need a picture of the dealer stamp and plate to verify a car I am trying to buy. Thanks

Dana...if you haven't come across it yet, this below is online from what sounds like someone's '67 'Vette deal w/ a phone number...good luck!.

"...Zone 19 Dealer 423 Status: No longer in Business
Dealer Name Lyman Slack Motors
Address: 1635 N. E. Sandy Blvd.
City: Portland 12
State: OR
Zip: Information I have predates use of zip codes (12)
Year: 1967
This information is provided from my tank sticker and Warranty booklet. Photos of both of these documents were emailed to Al Grenning in May 2002. I sure would like to talk to somebody who might know someone who worked there, knows who took over the dealership, or knows where some of their records might be. My business phone number is 412-921-8544 (voicemail). Thanks...."

If you do end up buying the car, a local parts place in Portland had a batch of repro Lyman Slack license plate frames made up. They were fairly reasonably priced IIRC.

Here's their website:

I just received the lic plate frames. They are VERY nice. Thanks again for the tip. The car has it's orig. lic plates so this will finish it off nicely.

Just purchased a '69 Lyman Slack Motors car. Anyone have any memorabilia for Lyman Slack like a License plate frame or bumper sticker etc...

I have the original stuff that actually came with this car like window sticker, bill of sale, pre-delivery check list, owners manual/bag, protecto-plate, radio tag, radio inst. book, trim ring instruction card, etc...

Just looking for interesting stuff from the dealership.

Thanks,
