Trim tag replacement
I would like opinions on a trim tag dilemma. My friend who is elderly has a survivor 1974 Z28 that hes owned since the 80's. The trim tag is damaged from a mouse nest ( nothing else, just the thin metal tag) against my advice he removed the tag thinking he would clean it up and paint it. My question is, would you put it back on with new rivets or replace the tag. The tag info is totally fine, can a 100% correct tag even be purchased? Where can the correct rivets be bought if available? Thanks ahead of time for your knowledge

If I remember correctly, the 74s have a trim tag that is attached with screws, not rivets.

Hope he kept the screws then, when he sent me a picture holding the tag i assumed it was riveted, screws would be best case scenario

Yep they are held on with screws

Screws started in about April of 73.

That's good, i thought for sure he made a big mistake.

Can a correct tag be made off the original? I know Kevin Marti does Ford

Personally. I would just put it back on rather than to use a fake....Joe |
